I bought this rain suit looking for inexpensive, 100% waterproof, NON-breathable rain gear that I could wear doing dirty chores in the outdoors and at the stables. These deliver exactly what they promise. They don’t purport to be anything more than what I described. They smell like plastic when you first open them, because they are some kind of impervious plastic-like material. The collar has a thin layer of cloth which is nice. The hood detaches, which, if you are like me, and sometimes wear a different kind of rain hat, that’s useful. So overall, they get five stars because they’re exactly what I expected and what I wanted.Having said that, I WILL say that they do run small. I’m 6’4â€, 250 pounds at the moment. That’s dad bod, not linebacker. The 2XL was just a fraction too tight to wear comfortably over any kind of warm gear. I haven’t ordered it yet, and although I would normally be an XL or in some things a 2XL I might try the 3 XL or 4 XL in this product. By the way, you might ask why I wanted a non-breathable fabric: In my experience, every breathable waterproof fabric ever made eventually gets soaked and water gets through. This is true of my very expensive name-brand-sporting-goods-store, breathable, oh so lightweight, waterproof pants and outer shell. They’re also too expensive to abuse. This set is exactly what I need for the kind of dirty work I need to do sometimes. No wet-through; inexpensive; bingo!

The jacket zipper was inoperable upon receipt. The jacket has buttons so remained usable without the zipper. As my pants pockets were inaccessible while wearing the rain pants and jacket, I placed my wallet and cell phone in the right front pocket of the rain jacket for ease of accessibility. Well, as soon as I stood up with this load in the pocket, the pocket tore away under the weight of wallet and cell phone and dumped them both onto the wet ground (fortunately not into mud). By the end of the day the pants had torn from the crotch to each knee and were discarded in the trash. Yes, not even one full day of use out of the pants. I suppose it can be said that the suit ultimately did its job as it kept me dry during a very rainy day but the pants were no longer usable, the jacket zipper was not functional and one pocket was torn away (I didn't use the other pocket as I now didn't trust it to hold anything with any weight.) Very, very flimsy rain suit.

For the price this is acceptable. The pockets fell off almost immediately. Why even bother putting them on the coat? They are small and rip right off the face of the coat with first use.Aside from that this coat/pant combo will keep you dry. But only because it is made from waterproof material. Minimal breathing also means you will sweat like a pig with moderate physical activity. So if you plan to wear this outdoors while working in the rain, plan to get wet, but not from the rain.

I liked the fabric. I wore it once on the ranch when it was raining and when I bent down the seams broke on my jacket at the bottom. I just used the buttons after that . Not too much room to move in as there is no stretch . I went 1 size larger .

Bottoms ripped the first time my husband wore them! Bought an extra large since they come as a set, but my husband wears a large bottom normally so the size was not the problem. The fact that the material is flimsy is more the problem. Also, very rigid, not flexible like the old rubber suits used to be.
