Ok, so I'm gonna beat a dead horse I think with this reel. I purchased the black version a few weeks back, and couldn't believe the smoothness, and the castablity with this reel. Yes, I realize it's a $30 reel... But after fishing with it, I knew I needed to come back and buy another one before I couldn't buy them again. This time I purchased the green one, and the quality and usability was the same. Perfect. I love fishing, and I definitely love finding amazing items that don't cost an arm and a leg. These reels are the epitome of budget excellence. The reel for us everyday guys that don't need or want a $300 reel to prove we catch fish. Thank you Piscifun for making some amazing items for the average guy.

I also have the older version of this reel. I mostly use it for bass. I've caught a couple of hybrid bass on the new reel, and the drag performed nicely. It was a very smooth release, and there were no catches. The older version does feel slightly more sturdy, but both are great value for the money. They are super easy to set up and have very few overwinds/bird nests. If you're looking at a bunch of options buying this reel is a no-brainer.

I own two of these reels. Both I ended up adding some grease and lube to out of the box since it did seem like they needed it (something I've seen on expensive reels too), and they both perform flawlessly. One has been submerged in water for a few minutes and still works great. Used for frogging and flipping and can be adjusted enough to limit backlashes decently. Only real complaint is that the thumb button is not smooth at all. Feels very "plastic" and cheap when pressing the button to cast, but it hasn't broken and does work every time.

Just got it out of box . Was impressed with packing .Very light weight, was going to use it as a bass reel , but now thinking about adding it to my crappie collection. Seems very smooth and quiet . Design is excellent if you have small hands . My paw will need an adjustment on how I hold it .

Perfect affordable replacement for an old bait caster. The 8.1:1 gear ratio is what caught my eye, feels nice and quick when reeling in. So far it has performed; will update my review if I encounter any issues!

Smooth operating. Reel tension and brake make it easy to cast without backlash. I'm no expert but can cast a 1/4 oz. jighead 15-20 yards with a cheap pole. Could do better if I were better with my thumb and needed less reel tension, but can do this all day without backlash. Haven't caught anything big yet, but no problems with the small fry. Reliable operation make it a fun alternative to spinning reels.

This is a GREAT baitcaster reel! You can get them with the reel handle on the left or right. Great casting ability. But i learned the hard way how these baitcasting reels are more for lures and bigger baits....a small jig won't cast very well but that's how they work. Wen i go out on my kayak i being 4 or5 rod and reels with me for different things... but i fully recommend this reel...theres some good rods you can get on Amazon for under $50 that have great stability...i got the fairiland neultin rod and they pair together really well. For $140 its an awesome rod and reel combo. If you gonna, get tge rod i rod make sure you get the proper baitcaster model... its very comfortable.
