It took a few fails before I learned how to make pizzelle. After that it was delicious fun.

First time pizzelle maker. I like the ease of using these. It took me a little while to get the amount of batter to put on the plates without it overflowing but I did figure it out. Pizzelles turned out great and very tasty. There is no recipe booklet with it so I had to google the recipe, no big deal for me. Family including teenage grandkids loved them and did I. Glad I bought it, I will use it throughout the year on special occasions. It was fun to use. Downside, there is not internal timer so you have to stay with it so they don't burn.

I liked the ceramic non-stick feature and only had to brush oil on the first time [not for every pizzelle]. Each pizzelle released easily, no problem there. However, it did not heat evenly and pizzelles looked 'pinto'. There was a lists of recipe ingredients but no directions or instructions to the recipe. The iron did not press the pizzelles as thin and crisp as I would have liked. They were about 1/4 inch thick and took 2 minutes to bake. The design of the handle to lift the lid has metal running through the middle, which heats up and gets very hot...so must be careful to only touch the outside edges of the handle. The latch to clasp the iron shut easily flipping under, preventing closure, and had to be pulled forward each time. I did like the ceramic non-stick finish which is the one reason I chose this iron over other non-stick finishes that flake off. However, overall I was disappointed.

This makes the cutest waffle cookies.. and you can also make waffle ice cones.. so easy to use...
