I’ve been trying to repair something plastic for a while with no success, so I figured I’d try this. There are a lot of these kits available and I had no idea what to look for, but this one did the trick. If you need instructions, you’ll need to look them up, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. It comes with a wide variety of little metal pieces. The gun heats up very quickly, and once you get the hang of it, it’s kind of fun to do. It works perfectly well for plastic repairs and was a great value for the price. So far my repair is holding very well, and I’m glad that I can save money and the environment by repairing plastic items instead of throwing them away and replacing them.

I'm a natural healthy skeptic when it comes to anything. My daughter broke her 3rd hairbrush which is probably the worst freaking design ever. It's this brand called "Wet" and this particular version design (bought at Target) looks like they WANT it to break on you. It's meant to flex and be used in the shower. Except the way the designed brush is, there's a "deleted" section of the exterior brush wall every 1/2" all around the brush head. We've already thrown away 2 and are now on our third. After using this tool I was astonished at how STRONG the fixed joint came out! It's stronger than the original design! I attacked the break as if I was first embedding a skeleton (the staple) deep within, and then "stitching" the outside up for final structure. VERY IMPORTANT you have whatever you're working on immobilized so it cannot move on you as you're applying the staple(s) or you'll wind up creating a "pocket" within the plastic of your item and it will result in your item fix having some "wiggle" to it. Also, seriously allow a FULL 45 SECONDS to pass before moving the tool and/or removing the tool from the staple for the same reason. Many plastics have different cooling times, some longer than others. The 45 second waiting time recommendation they give in the manual likely is to account for this and that you probably don't know which type of plastic you're repairing.Fantastic results! So so so so many things we could have saved money on and saved from the landfill in the past. You will NOT regret buying this. Just hope actually remember you have it when the need arises!

This has saves hundreds on equipment covers. Thermoset plastics get thin in spots corners and access panels. This had reinforced a couple pieces literally at $700 each. Even put one of the kids on one with only one overheat, so its simple and easy to do. Watch the tails though seriously hurt if your finger finds one. Safety glasses when cutting the tails off and grinding the not quite flush off. Oh and do your self a favor and dont even try the supplied cutters. Not enough leverage there for easy use.

I learned about this awesome product when I was searching the 12ft skeleton owner's Facebook group for the best way to fix the splitting shoulder seam of our 12ft skelly. This came highly recommended so I ordered immediately and got to work the day it arrived. It's super easy to use, but I would recommended a quick YouTube search just to see it in action first (or maybe I'm just a very visual learner). You pop the appropriate staple in, hold the trigger for 5 seconds, then press it into what you're looking to weld.I used the included wire clippers to trim the staples down when I was done, but wasn't able to get close enough to get them flush with skelly's arm, so I quickly Dremeled them all down after. Not sure if this was because I didn't snap them by hand or expected.Super happy with this purchase. Skelly is back in action, and with some cool scars to boot!
