Players Products Violin Care Kit is Superb. Everything included in this kit is both interesting, well-suited to providing the violinist with the things he or she may need in caring for and playing the violin. I bought it for the cloth and polish. The cloth is perfect and soft and works perfectly with the polish which only takes a drop or two to polish the whole violin. The rosin is high quality and I began using right away as it has a very nice package and applicator/holder. The marking dots I will probably not use but could be handy for the beginner who wants to mark where those notes really are on the fingerboard. Then, as far as the shoulder pad goes, this is a wonder in itself: it offers several ways of attachment to the violin to give the greatest comfort and protection the the player. I hope I didn't forget anything, this was quite a package, oh yes, the informative and wisely-written violin pamphlet is also a wealth of valuable violin knowledge. I think that's it. A very nice package of useful helps for the violin student.

This kit has all the little things in it to care for your violin properly. The rosin they included in it is a very dark product. Looking up rosin online I find that that type is used by well experienced players and not beginners. Either say so in included literature or change to a light rosin.

Sets like these tend to have one or two useful items with the rest being junk. Depending on your rig, that may be the case with this kit as well.I personally got use out of the rosin (it's actually fairly decent), the polishing cloth (nice to have a little cloth to wipe rosin dust off your instrument), and the shoulder pad (minimalist - and I like minimalist). The finger markers are just stickers and I don't use violin polish. What I've used has been of acceptable quality to a student/amateur. Indeed, that is the target customer.If you know of (or are) a beginning violinist then this is a good place to start...give the items a try, toss what you don't like or won't use, and keep or upgrade the rest.

I bought this kit to clean my older violin as well as maintain my new one - it does a fine day-to-day job. The cleaner and polish cloth are quite nice and fit handily into the accessory compartment. The rosin was a nice touch - though it's a bit darker than most starter rosin, so be prepared to have to work on this cake a bit more than you would on lighter rosins. The fingering dots were also useful (at least in the short term).The only part I found to be useless was the "slim softie shoulder pad" - I simply can't ever imagine using this. I suppose in a pinch it could be used, but it does very little to actually boost the violin up to a comfortable level. Still a good value though, as it's worth the ten bucks just for everything else that the kit comes with.

Product not as expected. They sell it as a cleaning kit, but does not include the cleaning liquid. Not recomended

It's perfect for beginners. The shoulder rest sucks.
