Purchased for a 6 year old boy to use with all of his matchbox vehicles. He designed his imaginary town’s road and rail system, set up road signs, and was glued to his play for days of rainy day fun. He applied the tape to wooden floors and when time to pull up his roads the tape left no residue. He decided to play in front of their home’s entrance, thus the reason for eventually pulling up the roads. The wider 4†tape allows for play with larger small vehicles. I will definitely purchase the tape and accessories again because it did not require adult supervision, allowed the child to create as he wished, used all of his play vehicles in his imaginary town, and provided hours/days of imaginary play. A child can make their creation as basic or complicated as they desire. Good price point for the reasons stated above.

The Play Tape is made of paper and tears. It comes in a roll and it seemed that our roll might have gotten hot at some point because it was very difficult to pull out. It stuck to itself and would tear. We contacted InRoad Toys and they sent us a new roll which has worked fine. We felt InRoad Toys was very responsive and appreciated their prompt reply. The self-adhesive does make it easy to apply. We used this for our HO scale train layout. The curves we received are really too tight but worked well. We are able to pull the tape up and reposition it which is very helpful.

A very good product if used as intended. Excellent for diorama or layout use. suitably durable for what it is. I would not expect to peel it up and reuse it forever as it is actually a printed tape, and can only be 're-stuck' so many times before it wears out.. With careful application and removal it should provide plenty of playability. FYI Playtape is made by Inroads toys. I read numerous reviews complaining of receiving the roll of road and the curves from different sources. Those reviews caused me to hesitate in making this purchase. all the pictures with those reviews clearly showed the Playtape logo and the Inroads toys logo citing that as the discrepancy. Playtape is the product identity, and Inroad Toys is the manufacturer. The product arrived in a factory sealed package marked as a set and clearly labeled as Playtape by Inroad toys. I hope this helps clear up some questions. My package had road and curves that color matched very well.

This road tape does not come off of the roll easily, resulting in torn edges at the sides. Very much like old masking tape that sticks to itself on the roll and doesn't allow you to unroll the full width of the tape without tearing the edges.

This road tape is very easy to install, sticks well to my painted table, and is very realistic for an O gauge train layout. As you can see, it fits well with the Lionel Fastrack grade crossings I have. The curved pieces come with a peel-off paper backing. The straight road comes on a roll without backing, like a wide roll of masking tape. I was concerned that it would tear or be difficult to position, but it turned out to be easy to install. For cutting I put a piece of plastic under the place where I wanted to cut and used a box cutter and a metal straight edge to get a clean cut. Cutting with scissors works but it is hard to get a straight cut that way. I am super happy with this product.

This tape was the worst. I expected to be able to use it like painter’s tape but it was impossible to unroll. There was no clear starting edge and it shredded when I finally got it started, so I had to very carefully try and line all the pieces up and slowly unroll it. We got a few lengths out. The corner stickers were great. Left it on the floor for three days and when I peeled it off it removed the top surface of the wood planks. This was old wood plank flooring, but I would not have expected that from painter’s tape. Expected better based on the description and reviews so maybe I got a roll that has been sitting in an Amazon warehouse for a while, but I would not recommend.

The kiddos in my classroom loved this! They were as exciting about helping plan the track as they were in using it. We put it on a table top and it lasted all through summer school. Looking forward to designing a new track this fall.
