The finished work needs to be washed, and then put the front side on a towel and iron the back side.

This is my go-to fabric when I don't feel like spending the dough on DMC brand stuff. This is a lot less stiff than the stuff from DMC, which I prefer. Still gets the same amount of tension when put on a hoop, but if you are using for free stitching it will be a little flimsy.The amount of fabric is also a great bang for your buck, and it arrives flat, so there's none of the weird rolling that the pre-rolled Aida does when you're trying to load it in a hoop. I crank out at least four to five projects a month and this fabric still lasts me for close to half a year. (Disclaimer: I primarily do things in 3" and 6" hoops. If you're doing 9"-12" stuff, it will not last that long.)
