This is a well-made carrier, tougher than I am anyway. So far, I have used it to carry dual 1/2" drywall panels (80 lbs). This is the maximum thickness that the jaws will open (~1"). Since the panels taper on the edges, I was worried that squeezing might crack them, but it did not. You need to be pretty strong to move panels by yourself because the handle puts most of the weight on one arm. It's uncomfortable trying to rest it on a shoulder. After feeling sorry for myself moving the drywall, my next project called for 3/4" MDF Melamine panels weighing in at 95 lbs. each. These jaws gripped the slippery Melamine no problem. It's a great tool but moving heavy panels is still tough.

Before I started building my new house I ordered these to carry plywood, they work great and they are a tool that I am glad that I invested in!

I didn't like the way one part would flip up and down

Since most of the other panel grippers are over twice the price, I was scared to buy the cheaper option. But don't worry, it arrived, and was able to hoist a 50lb sheet with ease.Construction is nice aluminum and plastic handle is nicely formed to be comfortable. the grippers have rubber on them to avoid marring the surface, and the bolts that hold it together all have lock nuts to avoid it coming apart. One comment: It helps immensely if you tighten up the bolts to be a bit more snug so that the jaws don't close when you put a panel down. This helps keep them open for picking up the next panel.overall: recommended.

20 sheets of plywood upstairs and still great. Even my hub with his torn meniscus (yes, I’m a slave-driver) greatly appreciated how much easier it made the job.

It does what it says but most of the time it was easier to just pick up the plywood the old fashioned way and carry it rather than taking the time to do it with this tool. My grandson really preferred it though. I think its a worthwhile tool to have for when you want a change on certain muscles.

I bought this for hubby so he wouldn't have to keep asking me to help him move awkward sheets of plywood or whatever. I gave it to him for his birthday and he went right out to the shop and tried it. I can't speak to the longevity as we haven't had it long, but he reported that it worked! YAY!
