I needed new water bottles that were easy to clean insulated, and spill proof for my daughter. She gets thirsty at night but had been spilling her water on her bed, and changing sheets in the middle of the night was getting old.These water bottles checked all of my boxes and then some. These days I’m more mindful about where I buy things from so the fact that these are made in America is awesome. I think these will also work well for school so that’s another plus.I will make one suggestion and that is to get the water bottle with the traditional black sports bottle spout. The lids with the red spout are difficult to drink out of and if you squeeze the bottle too hard it will leak and you’ll get drenched. I learned this the hard way after I bought myself one of the larger bottles and yea it drenched me and I’ll not be using the red kind anymore. I’ve had the bottles about a month and I’ve been washing them daily on the top shelf of my dishwasher and so far they’re holding up well.

I bought this based on positive reviews and the fact that it is made in USA. As far as I know, Nalgene is the only other company made in USA. Camelbak and most other popular bottles are made in China. Lid fits securely, doesn’t leak, holds enough water for a 1-2 hour bike ride. The muck cap is a nice feature for rides in dirt or gravel. Fits in bottle cage securely, no worries about falling out. Filled this bottle with cold water from my fridge with 4 ice cubes just prior to a 1 hour ride. At the end of the ride, the water was cool, but not cold. Outside temp was 90 degrees F. Not sure how insulated this bottle really is. Water has slight plastic taste, but not overly offensive. This might pass after some use and multiple washes. Would still buy again. Recommend. *Edit. After a week of daily use and washing, the plastic taste is gone. I like this bottle more than I thought I would. Ordering two more.

Want to go counting biking or riding on dirt roads around horses (I live near many Amish)? I bet you don't want what comes off of your tires to go into your mouth. The cap is the reason I bought this. It works great and the insulation works well. Exactly what I hoped for.

I now have a total of 7 of these in Breakaway Insulated, 5 as Muck and 2 as non-Muck but with MuckGuards in sizes 24(4), 20(2), and 12(1) fl oz., most of them for over 2 years of frequent 1-4 hr riding. On the hottest days, I'll fill and refrigerate overnight (if I remember) and they remain coolish for the duration. I'm NOT looking for ice cold water, as refreshing as that may seem at times, as I think cool but neither ice cold nor tepid is most readily assimilated without causing issues. I do not use them for sports or other liquids...just 100% water, thus keeping them clean is relatively simple. IMO having bottles with covers (MuckGuard or new Cleancover (for Sports model bottles) is imperative. Re leaking, properly snug up each lid AND test it (with Surge cap closed) by squeezing the bottle. If anything leaks at all tighten a little more. Avoid overtightening it....as that resets the normal position IMO. I convey bottles from the house to the car in a daypack's front compartment and my ebike battery in the other.....I can't risk leaks and have never had an issue w/ Polar bottles using the Surge cap....I can't speak for the Sports cap's performance. On gentler rides I generally ride with Surge cap in the open position but with the cap gently placed over it (to not push it closed)......keeps spout readily/quickly accessbile AND clean. I've been highly satisfied with these bottles and only wish that they'd further expand the pattern and color choices in the Breakaway Insulate Muck lineup.

Comparing all insulated bottle brands, this one keeps liquids cold longer, riding multiple surfaces, even in 90+ temps. The shape makes it easy to remove/replace in bottle cage and is a good size for using with one hand. The attached cap cover keeps grit out when riding trails or gravel and can be opened and closed with thumb. Cover can be taken off and on as needed. Replacing all bottles with this one.

Polar bottles comes with no instruction and I see some 1 star rating. The RED valve is technically not a bite valve so it is difficult to pull it out with your teeth for a drink. The valve will also get push back when you put on the dust cap unless the dots are line up. I replaced one of Polar bottle with a Camelbak top cap and it's leak free. Modern EMTB such as Polygon Collosus and Canyon Neuron ONfly have tiny inside frame triangle. That's why I got two Polar bottles. That said I still prefer the Fidlock but it is an inch too long for my ebikes.
