This renewed product arrived packed in bubble wrap and plastic bags. The power supply is not OEM Polycom - it is manufactured by a third party, but it has been working fine throughout my tests of the system. Cosmetically, it looks brand new. The sound is very good - nice and clear and you can turn it up way louder than you'd ever need. I purchased separately a Polycom cable that lets you plug in a mobile phone and I tried that out and it worked great. I also connected it to an Ooma and it worked great as well. Very pleased.

This phone offers fantastic sound. I had a $25 AT&T speaker phone and it sounded like the person was talking through a tube on the other end of a long hallway when I was on calls for work. This is like going from listening to a movie on your phone to hearing it in a theater. Great sound. Good sound capture too, near as I can tell. The set up is very easy. You take the heavy duty CAT cable, plug one end into the phone, the other into the power unit. Plug the power unit to the wall. Connect the phone line to the power unit and you are off to the races. The CAT cable gives your phone power and data. I love this thing. And I love that I didn't pay $400.

I didn't know that Polycom made phones for home analog systems, so was thrilled to find this. We recently purchased some AT&T speakerphones that worked okay, but the speakerphone quality has been lacking. The sound quality of the Polycom SoundStation2 is really good on both ends. It also has caller ID, volume controls, and other features. I bought a refurbished model, and it was like new, with power supply/interface module, and both necessary cables. Negatives: didn't come with a manual, but the manual is available on Polycom's website. The display is a little small so you have to be close to see who's calling. If this is your only phone, it is speakerphone only, so no private conversations. If you do buy a used one, be sure it comes with the Interface Module, which provides power and the connections between your phone line and the phone unit.

Great sound, looks new. Only issue is there was no instruction manual with it, so 4 rather than 5 stars.

I purchased the unit for a specific event, however the event was cancelled and I never checked if the unit was working. A few months later I had another event that required the Polycom system and found out it did not work. Lessen learned, always test the products after receiving them. Now the company would not give an exchange because the warranty period has expired - but again this is for a defective product they sold as "tested" and working.

I received the renewed Polycom SoundStation 2 within a couple of days of ordering. It looked brand new other than not having the original box. After connecting everything there was no power going to the conference phone. I downloaded the manual to verify everything was connected correctly and nothing seemed to work. I was ready to return it as DOA. As a last effort I replaced the phone cord going to the conference phone with an old cord I had laying around and the phone immediately powered up. The telephone cord provided was defective even though I unpackaged it from a new bag. I am very pleased with the conference phone now and it works great.

Great sound quality but the volume is super loud even on the lowest setting. There are times when I want to turn it down but even on lowest volume setting it is too loud.
