This stuff comes quickly and is very easy to use! I bought the first bottle, didn't read the instructions correctly but it was still sturdy enough to hold my bag up for the time being. I used one bottle and one gallon of water to start, worked fine. However I wanted my boxing bag to be a bit more sturdy so I bought another and then realized that I only needed the one bottle, however with the 2nd bottle I used it fully and added in two gallons of water and now my boxing bag is much more sturdy but still has just the perfect amount of give. I live in an apartment and didn't want the hassle of sand getting everywhere and didn't want to use water. I have much more confidence now hitting my bag without worrying about it tilting. Great buy!

This is a great alternative to water or sand to prevent a mess, but it doesn’t weigh down the punching bag base enough to keep it from falling over when being used.

Added gel Crete to the water inside my large outdoor umbrella in all four sections and it works great and keeps the umbrella from falling down and becoming unstable! I will not have to use sand bags this year! Will definitely order more of this fantastic product to add to my pool basketball goal and pool volleyball containers as well! Awesome product! Definitely will give this product a 5 star! Definitely recommend!!

I evenly distributed half this bottle this amongst 4 umbrella base sections and then filled them with water. According to the bottle, it can work for up to 35 gallons, so a half bottle should work for 17.5 gallons. Each base only holds about 3.5 gallons of water or about 14 gallons total. Unfortunately this did not seem to fully gel the water. This did seem to thicken the water, but it did not form as solidly as I expected as you can still hear the water slosh in the units if you shake them. I feel like this is better than just the water alone, but it definitely isn't a replacement for sand as it adds zero extra weight to the water and secondly, it doesn't seem to be as solid as I had hoped. In retrospect, I would have used the whole bottle for the 4 sections and that probably would have made them form more solidly. I really do not believe this works for as much water as it says it does based upon my experience. I am pleased enough with how it works, but I expected it to form more solidly. I only see this being better than water if you are worried about leaks in whatever you are using this for as it should help keep the water in a more solid form. I am not convinced that this provides much of an added benefit, and that reflects in my rating.

No more whooshing water inside the tank or flopping back and forth. Turns water into gelatine. No it does not add extra weight, you’ll need to put more water to add more weight.

Worked as described. I pumped out about 1/4 of the water in my Spalding Basket Ball base and poured in the whole bottle. I re add about 1/8 of water to help push it around and left room for expansion. Within a few hours it was very gel like. A few days later it’s fully settled. Note this does not increase the weight of water just keeps it more stable and good for freezing conditions.

Perhaps it is necessary to buy several bottles of this stuff for the amount of water needed to fill a basketball hoop base, but I can say for sure that if you put one bottle of it into the base and fill with water, there will be absolutely no thickening of said water, nothing remotely gel-like. I’m supposing maybe using 5-6 bottles might yield some gel, but how much money to you really want to spend to find out. You’d think the product description might let you know how many bottles a typical basketball hoop needs, but no. Do not recommend buying. Waste of money.
