These are excellent pipe clamps and are quite strong. Be aware that it is very easy to over-tighten these on softwoods and if you use a good quality metal pipe, they won't bend or flex. They'll break the wood before you bend a clamp or a pipe.

Anyone who has ever needed a long wood clamp, knows this story. A 3 foot long clamp will cost around 40 bucks and will be made with a metal bar that bends when clamped. Finding a longer clamp is hard enough, but the expense just won't be worth it. So, I bought a ten foot length of black pipe for $24, with threads on each end. Used a cheap angle grinder to cut it in half, then ten seconds on a bench grinder rounded the sharp edges, with a rat-tail file to quickly finish the inside edges. The threaded ends screw right into the pipe clamp and the opposing piece slides on without hassle. Literally five minutes after I opened the box, I had two, 5-foot wood clamps, ready to go. And they are much more solid than anything you can buy on a store shelf. My only question is the metal coils that come in the kit. What are they for? Thanks, PONY!

Had a need for bar clamps the very next day after delivery..........These worked great for the task at hand.Much better than the smaller option...

Pipe clamps are a good alternative to costly bar clamps. Just alternate clamps on top and bottom of your glue ups and don't over tighten. Too much clamping pressure will cause pipes to bow.

I have these and the larger 3/4" pipe clamps. Been using them for over 40 years. Just bought the 1/2" version to try. These will do just about anything the 3/4" will do. Still well made and durable solid construction.
