This is a repurchase for my teen who is first chair in their hs philharmonic ensemble, double bass.This brand is their favorite because quality is better than other brands they’ve tried (don’t know which ones). It’s grippier, lasts longer and yields a richer tone.So although it may seem pricey, it takes a while to use up.

It makes the bow adhere to the string so playing is easy, goes on easily. The best rosin made, in my not so humble opinion.It does flake off onto the belly of the bass, but you should wipe your bass EVERY time you play anyways. If you do it won't build up.

Not a musician so I can't comment in that genre, but for bowing a Gong it is the only rosin to buy!
