What a beauty! Yet so functional!I love the design:1. The lid itself functions as a tea filter. You can pour out your tea through those small holes on the lid. So we don't have to worry about tea bags or tea filters. The holes on the lid are very tiny, so it's a very effective filter. It's definitely environment friendly.2. Easier to clean. It's difficult to clean those tea pots with long spouts. It was not a easy job for me to clean the stains inside the long spout. But this one, it's so easy, no special tools needed.3. Easy to pour our tea: only use one hand to pour out the tea. You just hold the flared rim of the Gaiwan (The temperature of the high raised rim has no direct contact with the hot water, thus much cooler than the body of the Gaiwan), using your indexed finger to press on the lid then pour. Exterior has frosted layer, which adds grip.I am very happy to use it for brewing my herbal tea: Goji Berries, chrysanthemum flower, rose buds, orange peels, fresh lemon leaves...It takes a little longer time to brew them in the tea cup so by the time I pour my tea out, it's not too hot at all.The case design is something new for me as well: The carrying case with a zipper is shaped in a way to snug the whole sets in, very inventive!

This travel gaiwan tea set is very cute and comes in its own little padded travel case. The “pot†is well designed with a flared lip so that it doesn’t get too hot to pour tea into the little tea cups.

Overall I am quite pleased with this set, though I mostly use the teapot and not the tea cups. This traditional tea set is perfect for brewing tea from loose tea leaves! The teapot really excels at brewing loose tea leaves, allowing the leaves to unfurl properly and releasing their full flavor. The teapot’s spout pours smoothly though it can drip. The set is compact and portable, making it convenient for travel or for use in small spaces. It comes with a sturdy carrying case that keeps everything secure. The porcelain retains heat very well, which is great for maintaining the tea’s temperature. However, this also means that the teapot and cups can get extremely hot to the touch. I found myself needing to be extra cautious to avoid burning my hands, especially when handling freshly brewed tea.

Arrived with nothing broke, Great starter kit or travel kit. I started tea with this exact set. Amazing for people just getting started and don't want to invest 100$ in a fancy gong fu set. Still my daily driver. Only thing I'd complain about, is it's a bit big of gaiwan and requires 7g - 9g of tea to get a full potent brew. A 100ml gaiwan would only need 3g - 7g of tea to fill.

I changed my rating because even though the product looks nice and worked well, this broke very easily. I ordered another one and it broke before I could even use it! Not well made if it can break so easily. I don't recommend this product.

This Gaiwan works well, especially for brewing Gong Fu style! I initially wanted this as a travel pot, but have been using it at home daily! The quality is very good and I like how it’s so simple to use, as opposed to other pots I have tried. The only minor downside is it doesn’t work well with Japanese green tea since the sencha leaves pour out small leaf particles and can clog easily. It’s best to stick to a Kyusu teapot for Japanese green tea. Other than that, it should work great with almost any other loose leaf tea!
