It works great. I wouldn't use it on a wooden table due to heat/steam transfer, but it's the perfect size for my 4 foot long plastic folding table.

I ordered the XDONEF portable ironing and steaming set primarily because I was getting annoyed when my son used his steamer against the bathroom door without any buffer. However, this set seems to offer much more than the ironing/steaming pad which was my main priority.First of all, I hate dragging out my large ironing board when I only have one item to iron. I set the six-layer protective pad on my dining room table and was ready to roll. The set also includes a polyester scorch mesh cloth (something new to me) and it was great for safely ironing my delicate item. After a couple of minutes, I checked to see how warm the bottom of the protective pad was and decided it was warmer than I was comfortable with, so I placed a towel under there for my own peace of mind. When I was finished, everything was good and it was nice to have the silicone iron rest pad upon which to set the hot iron.The pad also has hanging strings so you can attach it to the back of a door for convenient steaming. That addresses my main reason reason for getting this set. There’s a protective glove to wear while using the steamer; it fit me comfortably but would be snug on a large man’s hand.As an aside, the description and online image shows that the pad is pink but the one I received is white. It made absolutely no difference to me, but I thought I should point out the discrepancy.I ordered the large pad and believe the medium would be too small for most purposes. Everything folds up nicely when you’re finished and doesn’t take up much space. I recommend this item if you use a steamer or are looking for an alternative to an ironing board.

Ordered this for my mom for Christmas, she is in love with it. She was ironing on the kitchen counter and for someone who makes a lot of quilts she need more room! Now it doesn’t take her as long she can do more sewing than ironing. The iron mat is a dream we kept checking to make sure the iron wasn’t melt it, to our surprise it didn’t. Great for quilters and crafters
