Made bottling my latest batch of kvass much easier and cleaner than trying to pour off the top of a gallon-plus jar. Only thing I'm uncertain of is that it does run a little warm - doubt it's enough to effect any ferment, and the instructions do warn against running it for too long at once. Anybody making huge batches of brews probably has a more sophisticated solution for that anyways though.
