I buy sandpaper by the box, and have burned through many boxes. But only recently did a friend mention this adhesive-backed paper, and I'm glad he did. Durability-wise, it performs considerably better than regular sand paper, but what makes it so useful is the adhesive back. Here a few random points:1. Less waste - you adhere a piece to the face of your sanding block, and don't have to wrap any paper around the sides. Result - you use 100% of the paper for sanding2. For precise sanding, stick a piece of this paper at the very edge/corner/whatever of a sanding block, and you use the straight edge to get into tight corners, etc.3. Need a third hand? Stick a piece of the paper to a piece of wood and clamp that wood to your workbench. Then, for small pieces, use both hands to slide the piece back and forth over the flat (and immobile) sandpaper. Hint: cut a piece or two of the paper and adhere to the "top side" of the piece you are sanding. This gives you great grip on the top as you slide the piece back and forth over the horizontal paper. Update: I found an old sample floor tile - it was very smooth and now serves as a great flat sanding surface with adhesive sandpaper (plus I can clean off residual adhesive easily with lacquer thinner)Eventually the "stickyness" gives out on the paper - especially for the "gripping" pieces mentioned above, after you swap them a few times. The grit is still good, but the pieces won't stick. I use them like regular paper then.I bought several different grits, and use both sides of several boards to stick on successive grits.

I have been woodworking for 30+ years, and have tried virtually every brand of sandpaper on the market. Longevity is key, and the grit on this sandpaper lasts longer than anything I've tried. Any sandpaper will clog depending on what material you are trying to remove, but I've found that when just sanding wood this sandpaper only needs periodical cleaning during use. I usually use an old paint brush or air hose to freshen up the surface, then go back to work. As for the comments on the strong adhesive backing, I agree it's very strong but I consider that a benefit. I keep a heat gun handy around the shop, and just hit the sandpaper for about 5-10 seconds and it is easily removed. Yes, it leaves some residue but I'm usually just replacing it with another sheet anyway. Every so often, I'll use some lighter fluid to remove excess adhesive residue. Hope they continue to make this product for years and years, I'm getting too old to waste time trying to hunt down quality products. If anyone has rolls they want to get rid of, please send them my way - I'll take them!!!

This sandpaper holds up better than any other sandpaper I've tried. And I've tried them all. I gotta say, though, the adhesive on this is pretty world-class! Some people complain it's too good. No such thing.TIP: If the adhesive is too much for you, lay a layer of masking tape or packing tape first, then put the sandpaper on that.

This is an excellent product and this applies to the 80 grit and 120 grit versions purchased 07/2017. I'm using this product mainly for flattening chisels, planes, plane irons etc while adhered to a glass surface plate. The abrasive is long wearing and does not fill easily. At first I was concerned about filling but I clean the abrasive with just a shop vac as I'm working on the material, rust, paint, most everything comes off the paper easily. There is no waxed paper backer on the adhesive which surprised me but it sticks vigorously to the glass plate I have. Very economical to use with long wear and low fill I'm sure I'll find other uses for this. The one detractor and why 4 stars is that the adhesive. It is so strong I found it difficult to remove from the glass. I use a heat gun now to peal the paper then follow with paint thinner or similar mild solvent and a razor scraper to remove the residue. Most or all of the adhesive comes off the paper in my case and it is messy to clean up. It is very infrequent in my case to need to change the paper. I'd offer 5 stars if there was a paper back and a slightly less aggressive adhesive.I highly recommend this product regardless.

I have been using this with my DeWalt sanders for years. Why pay a fortune for individual sheets from Lowes or Home Depot? This sandpaper lasts considerably longer, is much, much stronger and you simply cut it to size, stick one layer on the pad of your sander as a base, then add another layer, clip them in and away you go. Not only that, it makes your pads last 10X longer as well. When it's worn out, remove it (I find it helps to let a few layers of sandpaper build up on the pad). This will save you a fortune in throw away single sheets and OK, it doesn't have any holes in it so you won't be collecting much dust - but then do you really anyway? Saves time, works better and saves a fortune in the long run. Does a much better job too and if you ever need a small piece for hand sanding, simply cut a sheet to the desired size, fold it over and stick it to itself and again, it won't slip, you won't be tearing it or cursing at it, you'll be able to get into those tight corners and the job will be done so much better in half the time! Great stuff.Great product.

This is some good sandpaper in a really economical and convenient form. I used to buy this stuff at Lowes but they quit carrying it. The adhesive is really good and I use it with the square pad sanders, detail sanders, the ton of odd sized sanding blocks I make, and it is really good for hand sanding as it sticks to your fingers and doesn't slip. If the weekend warriors would have just given it a try Lowes would still carry it.My only complaint is they don't make these rolls in 400 and 600 or more wet or dry. When I am leveling out a clear coat on a curved surface with my fingers it would be so nice to have the adhesive. If the manufacturer is listening do the wet or dry too and go all the way to 2000 and you will have my business for what that is worth...Lol They seldom listen.

Adhesion is super strong and removal is easy and flawless. Good longevity for sanding on hardwood, minimal clogging, a tap and it falls off. Haven't used it on finishes or paint yet.
