I’ve used other markers and Rosette markers are definitely a step up. I use them to mark thumb position notes on my upright bass. They are thinner with a good adhesive - which means the marker doesn’t get caught on the string and eventually falls off. Also, the decal/burnishing method of application is much easier than some other markers I’ve used. This is a simple product but someone really put some thought into it.

These are very tricky to apply. It’s easy to misinterpret the instructions, and if you don’t apply them precisely the first time they are ruined when trying to reapply. Of the package of 12 markers, I was only able to get 6 applied. Several just fell off the backing paper onto the floor. The 6 I was able to apply came out very nice. They look very professional.

I've read a lot of reviews rating this product low and bemoaning how 'difficult' they are to put on. As long as you CAREFULLY READ the directions they're really not that hard to put on and look very professional. It will take some careful application. I cut out a strip of 3 at a time and placed the outside dots before the middle one so that I wouldn't accidentally place other dots. Removal is easy and great since I'm currently using a rental bass before I move. Once I buy a bass of my own I will definitely be putting these on!

They were super easy to put on and it looks really nice until you start playing a lot and press down super hard it starts to run the dots off and you have to put on new ones.

I found these extremely easy to install on the side of a double bass fingerboard. They came off of the backing paper very easily and have endured several hours of practice with no signs of coming loose. I did remove one, just to see how difficult it would be. It came off with little effort and left no residue or marks on the finish of the instrument. These markers have been very helpful in learning finger placement on a new instrument. I would purchase these again if I ever need for more.
