I used these for a simmer pot and also broke out the rest for gift and it was great! They smell so great when in the simmer pot and also broke out in the perfect amount for gifts.

I have used simmering potpourris in the past and I love how they can fill your entire house with wonderful smells. The primary scents in this set are cinnamon and cloves, so it's great for Thanksgiving. There is a bag of dried lily flowers. They were packaged next to the cloves, so initially they just smelled like cloves and I thought they were just for decoration, but once I moved them away from the cloves, I could tell that they have a nice woodsy scent of their own. It's pretty subtle, but it will add a nice balance to the cinnamon and cloves which are both pretty strong. I was also confused about the spicy vanilla salt -- why add salt to potpourri? It seems to be the way to deliver the vanilla scent without making it an oil, so I'm happy about that. One less messy thing to deal with. Keep in mind, many of us have a lot of these ingredients already, so there isn't anything unique or unusual about this set but it does offer the convenience of having everything together in one place. I looked up the price of buying cinnamon sticks and cloves, and it's slightly cheaper than this set. I think this is a good value because it packages everything together and you should not have a lot of leftover items.

Cute little set but doesn’t have much scent to it. I was thinking this would be a nice gift and make your home smell good but it really isn’t good. Wouldn’t recommend.

This is for stewing to fill up the room with pleasant fragrance, but I decided to use this as a seasonal decoration, keeping them on a plate and display. They don't smell much when dry, but the look of them already inspires seasonal excitement and pleasure. Maybe next year, I'll simmer and enjoy their nice fragrance.

I do not recommend products I myself wouldn't use.This item was offered to me via the Amazon Vine program. Back in the day, I would make my own potpourri using cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla extract and a few other things thrown in and I would simmer the mixture on the stove when I was home.I only used what I had on hand so as to save money but it worked out great.I ordered this set so I could burn it for the holidays & make my house smell nice.When it arrived, it came in a very small box that was barely bigger than my hand.Everything inside was packaged nicely.Despite the disappointing small size of this set, I decided to try it anyway.First I put some in a mini crock pot but after a few hours and having to add more water to it, I barely smelled it.I then put it into a saucepan on my stove and brought it up to a boil and turned it almost all the way down so it can simmer. That too yielded the same result. Barely any smell.I mean, there is a smell but it's not too strong. Not what I would expect from these types of ingredients.It was very disappointing to say the least. I don't know why there was barely a smell but it wasn't what I expected.I received cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla salt & flower petals.The vanilla salt had no smell whatsoever. I smelled a slight fragrance from the cinnamon sticks and cloves and not much from the flower petals.I also think for what you receive, it's a little pricey.I have attached a pic of the box so you can see the size compared to my cell phone.I'm sorry but I can't recommend.
