This fits on the bowl really tight but is easy to remove. It keeps flour and other light products from coming out of the bowl when you turn on the mixer. The access hole is great to add ingredients without having to remove the entire lid.

Great splash guard. I used it to make butter. Once the cream turns to whipped cream it will shortly turn into utter and begin to separate from the buttermilk. This splash guard saved me from having to clean up a mess. Usually, I place a towel around the top of the bowl. It keeps the buttermilk in but it soak the towel and I end up losing buttermilk & having to prewash the towel before washing it with others. You have to be vigilant using towel so it doesn't get caught in the beater or whisk. Great product & Great design!!!

Great addition to you KitchenAide Mixer. Fits nice and tight on the bowl, keeps most of the product in the mixer. My grandson can make flour come out the top by using full power, otherwise no problems. The only grumble is fulling it apart to take off can be difficult.

I have 4.5 quart metal bowl for my Kitchenaid Ultra Power stand mixer. I just received it and checked that it fits. It's not snug but it covers the entire bowl while letting me see what's going on and I love that the pour spout closes. I have the older clear plastic version that was too open and didn't fit well at all, which allowed flour to spray everywhere. I think putting some type of silicone specifically for plastic all around the edge will give me a tighter fit. I'm going to have to check out what would work best with food. I do a lot of different types of bread baking, so I use a lot of flour each time and this is what I needed.

This top is superior to the original that comes with the kitchen aid mixer. It closes around the entire top of the bowl so that flour and ingredients do not fly out while mixing. There is also a door over the chute so that nothing flies out of that. IFits perfect on my five quart mixer.

I like that you can add flour or other dry ingredients without it flying out of the bowl.
