I like how slim they are. They seem to be holding up nicely and doing their job. They have kept my weights secure through countless exercises. In terms of their safety I think these are perfectly fine; however, I would never trust my life to a friction fit (even if these were metal) so don't do anything dumb.

They’re like a meat sandwich is to my diet: simple, straightforward, and get the job done. I got these for a couple of reasons. First, so that I can add weights to my Eazy-curl bar without toppling it over because the retractable coil variety of collar it came with is AWFUL. Consequently, it can be very dangerous—like really, really dangerous—if you’re trying to remove the collar to add weight but you have to pull so hard and simultaneously SQUEEZE the little handles. It’s made me loathe doing curls every week, but these have allayed that anxiety! And since they are so simple and work so well, I’m going to get a second set along with some Olympic dumbbell bars because I’ve outgrown my adjustable dumbbell set. I’m really saving enough with these collars instead of those that are two, three and four times more expensive to justify the purchase of the dumbbell bars to use with my Olympic plates. 5 out of 5! Great product and sensibly priced
