I used it last season as an engine warmer for a car that lacked a block heater and it worked well for that purpose even when the temperatures fell below -20 degrees. For that purpose, it fully covered the top part of the engine compartment and also worked to keep the battery warm. I will be adding an external oil pan heater to that vehicle next season, but I will still use this blanket. I also used it to remove some ice buildup on my deck, and it melted through it in a day and half. All in all, good product and works as intended.

I am very satisfied with this product. I have an ongoing problem with melting snow dripping from my carport metal roof that re-freezes the minute the sun goes down. Consequently a lump of solid ice builds up and won't budge even with a matock. Yesterday afternoon laid the powerblanket on part of it. The overnight temp was 15F. This morning it was completely melted! Those who say it doesn't work are either laying it out upside down, or may have a defective unit. 5 stars so far -I hope it lasts for a few years.

Used it to DIY kill off a medium sized drywood termite infestation in bamboo flooring: Moved section by section and got the whole floor up to 130 degrees for 20+ minutes at a time after several days moving around the room. Thermostat is crucial for setup and monitoring in this application. Treated the overhead beam which required clamping, creativity, etc. but it worked. Treated a bunch of baseboards from the area, treated a small end table for an hour. ~ 1 Dozen+ crispy termites fell out after wrapping the end table and covering with a canvas tarp. Monitored closely with timers and a fire extinguisher nearby. Blanket heat is not even: More heat near corded end less at far end. Happy with the results. No tenting or poison gases; no outsiders tramping around and scoping out the house/ contents.

Second Blanket, first one just quit working and after paying for shipping to send it back the manufacturer grudgingly sent me a second.I was super careful with this and put it under a protecting insulated plywood box.Didn't even last a week, it's a great idea but you have to be so careful with them you almost can't use it.Sucks eating 400.00 and my problem isn't thawed.

These really do a great job of thawing ground quickly. I live in North Dakota and the frost can get to 8' in some harsh winters, even some rural water lines froze a couple years back. These will usually thaw about a foot a day directly below the blanket and it's surprising how easy it digs with the moisture softening up the soil. As an electrician these have been a real life saver.

I bought the blanket for thawing ice on a landing and curing thinset under flagstone when needed. I haven’t tried the latter but experimenting on the step landing wasn’t like I hoped. It’s slow to work. The material is inflexible and needs to be weighted down after unfolding. Not really a blanket. More like a stiff mat. The instructions make it sound like the internal heat wiring is fragile so you can’t walk on it. It’s super slippery on top anyway, especially when wet. It took overnight to work to a degree that I thought would take an hour or less. I gave it 3 stars out of fairness because I haven’t used it for curing but overall it’s pretty awkward and unimpressive especially for the cost.

Works as advertised melts the ice that develops on some concrete every few weeks.

This might have worked if I left it on the ground for a week or longer. Best used for curring concrete and not thawing the ground.

Pad is to small . Will return it . Don’t waste your time with any of the pads … took it out of the box and plugged it in for 2hrs … not a chance it was 100 degrees … don’t believe the hype !!
