You can use a ruler for a straight edge, but it doesn’t work as well because this power tech straight edge will stand on edge. So I realize my workbench is not perfectly flat. This thing is beautiful. It has inches in centimeters. And it’s long enough to be useful.

This is a very nice straight edge. Has metric and standard rules on it that was important, unfortunately I needed this to cut material with and it does not have a machined edge that works well for a razor blade and cutting (they do not promote it for this application) and I needed to return it.For the price and quality this is a well made straight edge.

My only gripe with this is the same gripe I have with all of them, the base isn't terribly large so the thing likes to fall to one side a whole bunch. And without a larger surface to register against, I find that if I'm not paying close attention, it's possible to tilt the edge without even realizing it.Still, better to have it than not.

I own a sign shop and having a ruler that is straight and heavy helps my employees trim vinyl faster and easier. I love this ruler so much better than anything I have ever found. I am just beyond impressed! Thank you so much. I loathe the rulers that are made for the sign industry, they have a safety feature that is just bulky and this one is just outstanding.
