This tailgate mat fits my 2022 Nissan Frontier King Cab S perfectly. Installation took 10 minutes. Looks fantastic and seems to be pretty heavy duty. Highly recommend.

My frontier came with the tailgate painted only. This seems perfect for protecting paint. Looks good. Easy install.

Mat fit very well and does a good job covering tailgate. Material of mat was not too thick which was what I expected. The screws that are already on tailgate work well to secure mat. My only gripe are the screws and fasteners provided to secure bottom part of mat. Screws already started to rust and it’s only been a week. Also screws and fasteners are a little loose and doesn’t tighten as much as I would like. I might end up replacing screws with stainless steel screws. Overall not bad for the price lets see how it holds up for the long run.

I recently traded in my purchased-new 2008 Nissan Frontier for a used, low-mileage 2022 model. Unlike the 2008, this one did not sport a drop-in hardplastic bed liner+tailgate protector. IMO, spray-on bed-liners are all unsat, so I handled bed liner creation in a DIY manner ... but what to do about a Tailgate Protector? My original online research revealed a dearth of made-specifically-for-this-truck-model products of this type. When I tried one last time after juggling the words (again) in the search line, this product popped up. In the description I found out that the surface of the inside of the tailgate can be one of 2 different types, so I could order one that would be an actual "custom" fit. YAY! :)The item arrived rolled in a small box, so I laid it out flat in a corner of the living room with a weight on each curled-up end (big throw pillows, actually) and allowed it to relax for a ~36 hours. It had no discernible smell, as many rubber-looking items do.Installation uses the 8 existing OEM screws (the upper two lines of screws). The lower line of OEM fasteners are push-on plugs that engage with "nuts" in square holes in the tailgate steel. The Protector comes with both screws (+black plastic washers) & special-nylon(?)-mount-in-square-hole nuts. It does not ship with 4 of these pairs, but with *5*. The MFR was thoughtful enough to include a spare set, just in case. Very nice! The inside circumference edge of the Protector also sports a long narrow strip of double-sided urethane foam tape for a more complete attachment to the tailgate.I was surprised that the Protector did not come pre-drilled for the screws, but found that that was not a problem with a little bit of thought and preparation. I knew that I must securely capture the lined-up Protector with 2 screws before installing the remaining screws. I decided to use the 2 outside screws on the upper 4-screw line as position-capture screws. I removed all 12 of the original fasteners, cleaned & waxed the tailgate and installed those 4 Protector-MFR-provided specialty square nuts in the square holes of the lower 4-fastener line. With the tailgate open (horizontal) I carefully lined up the Protector. I could locate the screwholes by pressing my finger into the flexible surface of the Protector. To identify the actual center of the screw holes I used a long sewing straight pin and carefully screwed the self-tapping screws through the Protector (easy). I checked the alignment of the Protector and then, using the straight-pin method, installed the rest of the fasteners.I opted to not remove the protective cover-tape from the adhesive on the urethane stripping because, personally, am averse to attaching things to my vehicle paint with double-sided tape. That's just me, I am sure that it works well for its purpose.I have tested the Protector for several weeks now. It looks great and does the job well. I am very pleased. :)

The installation time for the tailgate mat was under thirty minutes. Prep time was about the same, and required removal of existing hardware and cleaning the painted surface where the tape secures the edges of the mat to the tailgate. The most important step is "relaxing" the mat, as it is shipped tightly rolled, so plan accordingly.I hung it up near my wood stove until it was hanging straight. I suppose using a hair dryer, or a heat gun would be faster?Replace the OEM fasteners in the centers of the round molded-in depressions at the top of the mat (top of the tailgate). The bottom, kit supplied hardware, didn't line up as well as the top fasteners. So it may take some poking around to find the connector. Peel the tape, stick it down, and it's done!It looks good, and adds protection without adding a lot of weight.Hope this helps
