I walked into the buzzsaw known as the bolt catch roll pin. I thought people were just being weak or lazy. They weren't. What a nightmare it is without the proper tools. I tried using my regular punches, tweezers and a hammer, etc. No luck. Stopped the project for one day while I ordered this. It came packaged very nicely. The punches are well built and clearly marked. About 2 minutes later, I had my roll pin installed. This is a must have for anyone wanting to build their own lowers.

Great little set. You can never have too many roll pins.

I have used this to build multiple AR's and have been able to do so without any cosmetic damage. Was also able to knock free some striped screws on an old motorcycle with them as well! Absolutely worth the purchase!

Pretty cool to have all the tools you need for assembly. The roll pin holder is a godsend. The only reason for four stars is the metal quality probably isn't that great. Very useful tools to have!

Work well. Quality seems good. Price was great. I liked the textured grip. Mine did not bend or break.

Bought this specifically for the bolt catch roll pin starter and finishing punches that are contoured to fit around the receiver extension lug on stripped lowers. The starter punch is a God-send, easily controlling the most difficult part of the installation process and keeping the roll pin aligned with the direction of impact from the punch. I had buggered up a roll pin trying to install without a guide punch before I bought this (always tape your receivers to prevent damage!).The guide punch and the finishing punch feel well made. I experienced none of the flex during use that I have had with other cheap punches. I haven't used the other guide punches yet, but they are well finished, have nice knurling in the grip are, and, most importantly, they are rigid. The tweezers are throw-away quality. It seems silly that they are even in the kit when compared with the punches.

Nice looking set, but wish it came with a roll case or pouch. Not a big deal. However, the holes in the end of the starter punches are a little small. They are basically the same size of the hole I'm trying to punch the pins in. This doesn't allow you to really get a secure purchase between the punch and the pin. Once you do get the pin started, it is wedged in the punch pretty dang tight. The set gets the job done, but I would not recommend it.
