The smartphone holder is 360 degree rotating, portrait mode (vertical) or landscape mode (horizontal) chosen as you prefer, not necessary to take your phone out of the tripod or selfie stick, very functional and easy to use.
Two options for using the tripod mount phone holder:
1. screw it directly to the tripod with pivoting arm, being able to 360 degrees rotating;
2. remove the clamp from pivoting arm and then mount on a tripod or monopod.

This was a great product compared to the cost of other holders. It has a great grip that can be adjusted with the turner on the side. This also attaches to the Amazon stand that holds cameras. It's easy to use and adjust the phone from horizontal to vertical.

The one thing I don’t love about this is that there is no spring loaded clamp, but instead, it is a screw vise style clamp. It holds well and functions properly, but a spring clamp just feels better to load and unload if you are moving around. I wish it had a tilt function on it but that is nitpicking. It’s easy to adjust and everything fits well once tightened down. I’ve used it on multiple tripods, a sliding dolly setup, and a c stand and it fits all of them.

Our previous phone holder only allowed us to use the “Landscape†phone view. This one also rotates to “Portrait†(which is great for YouTube shorts). I also like how it just comes up to snug without squeezing the phone hard. It works well, is easy to use and keeps the phone in place.

I bought a tripod but with no attachment for iPhone and this attachment works well. It’s mechanically adjusted instead of by spring so is stable.

I used this Smartphone holder mounted to my portable Spoty tripod recently on a trip to Japan. It was very useful for night-time shots and also for carrying about on the go. It was not expensive and better than a previous mount I bought. This one has two screw threads which allows convenient mounts.
