Waterproof 1600D medium weight turnout blanket with detachable neck cover and 400g of cotton filling.This blanket runs large. My mare wears an 81" normally, but I ordered a 78" and it is still a bit big on her. It's a buckle front with snaps, so it's easier to undo than a blanket that just has buckles. The surcingle straps are generous as well - I had to take them up most of the way so they didn't hang down where she could get a foot in them. They have rubber stops to help keep them from coming undone while being worn. The tail cover is generous. It also has hind leg straps.The color is gorgeous!

Sizing is really funky, I ordered the 78", my horse usually wears an 80" or 81" blanket. This was still really big on him, especially thru the chest and shoulder. The neck cover is crap, it did not stay on where it attaches to the blanket and was blowing up over his head. We had to re attach it 3 times within a 24 hour period and the 4th time we found him running around panicked in the pasture trying to get it off his face, very dangerous. At that point we just took it off for fear of his safety. My horse is out with 10 others and they can play pretty rough, I don't think this blanket will last very long. Get what you pay for. Did keep him warm in - temps for the 3 days we've had it but the fit is so bad. For reference I have a 16.2 hand paint horse, built leaner like a thoroughbred.

The straps ripped off my mare after 2 weeks. Also runs very big! My mare wears an 81â€, I ordered a 78†and it was still a solid 4†too long. Also very deep in the shoulder, but a smaller size might have helped with that issue

I ordered this blanket for my 17hh Thoroughbred who weighs around 1200lbs. The biggest one offered was a 78 but she normally wears an 84. The description is not very reassuring with it's measurements being in feet not type or in hands so I wasn't very sure about the actual product.When I tried it on I was very surprised that it fit so well, the fit is very close to her normal blanket size of 84 inches. This fit her perfect with a good amount of adjustment to all the straps to customize the fit. Everything is sewn very well with good stitching and decent buckles and clips.The chest adjustments are great with easy to use clips which are essential if your horse doesn't like the blanket being put on or taken off over their head which mine does not like.The weight of the blanket is adequate and is good for cold and damp weather though if it were going to be below freezing for extended periods of time id definitely recommend using either a lining or another blanket on top.The only drawbacks I found apon first use is that the back belly strap doesn't seem to be the same length or perhaps it needs to be longer to criss cross under the belly as I had to let it out much farther than the first one. Secondly the neck opening is made for a horse with a well developed shoulder which mine doesn't have due to past injuries to her chest muscles. It's usable but does gape a little bit.Overall this is a really nice blanket and I'm very pleased with it so far. I haven't tried the neck piece yet because we don't really get a lot of rain so I won't use it until it does rain.
