I've used 800 petri dishes purchased on Amazon over the past 18 months and never had a dish fail. All 10 of these dishes grew zero organisms when sampled in the same source as other dishes with different agar. A HARD FAIL. DO NOT BUY.

Many bad reviews, but MEA is best for mycelium growth so I decided to try anyway.Dishes arrived in perfect condition in a cardboard box, in three vacuum-sealed plastic bags. No bubble wrap. It appears the seller has responded to bad reviews by upgrading his shipping.No contamination was visible.

Dont waste your time buying these particular agar plates,or any other agar plate that isnt sealed and packaged individually..These plates arrived all packaged together in one bag with unsealed lids,cracked lids and every one dripping agar...So much for attention to sterility standards and plain ole common sense packaging skills..Remember,buy ONLY INDIVIDUALLY SEALED AND PACKAGED agar plates...☮ï¸

I got these cause they had Prime next day delivery… I was planning on inoculating some grain from a new LC I made, and I wanted to plate some of it to see its growth on agar.First of all the agar looks nothing like the pics. There’s no color; it’s basically invisible. For a second I thought I accidentally ordered empty Petri dishes. Not a big deal though. However, as I’m inspecting the plates I noticed most of them were terribly scratched up. Even the inside of one looked like it was a reused plate so I tossed it.Next is growth… it did not.I inoculated my grain then inoculated the agar. I did multiple plates using all 3 methods: inoculation loop, swab tek, and drip tek.With LC you should easily see growth on agar within 24hrs. I checked it the next day and nothing. Following day, nothing, nothing, and nothing. Six days later I seen growth on my spawn, but still NO GROWTH ON THE AGAR.It’s pretty crazy cause it was like the “agar†literally dissolved my sample.The agar itself is a dud. I gave this product 2stars simply for the packaging. The dishes were vacuum sealed in a bag, then vacuum sealed in another bag as well. The dishes themselves were not individually wrapped though.Save your money.

I INOCULATED THESE AGAR PLATES WITH PIECES OF MYCELIUM FROM RAPID GROWING GRAIN SPAWN JAR AND ITS GROWING VERY VERY SLOW

This is my second time ordering these plates. Quality and packaging is great but this order unfortunately had 1 broken agar dish. Other than that I'm happy with the agar quality and triple packaging. The outer box wasn't damaged at all so I'm unsure as to how the top plate had managed to break as it did...
