The padding is nice, but it is heavy and will make you sweat on warm days. Also found the length a bit short like the other reviewers.

My son was taking his jacket to band everyday to put around his neck to pad the strap. This strap was comfortable and length was great for our rapidly growing boy. Would recommend.

Back in the Jurassic when I marched alto sax in college and played Bari sax is jazz band, neck straps always were an in omfortsble challenge. More recently, I purchased a Neo Tech neoprene padded neck strap for playing alto. This was a great improvement over the painful gadgets I used years ago. An opportunity to play Bari sax popped up, and I brought my Neo Tech to the gig...and discovered it just wasn't long enough! Rats! This Extra Long strap now gets used for both my alto and the Bari, as it can be adjusted for both. The ballistic nylon, plus the separate chambers for padding, really is more comfortable on my neck; there are channels so my entire neck doesn't get all sweaty from contact with the neoprene. I purchased the teal strap, just to have something different than decades of all black neck straps. One detail I appreciate a lot, is that the sax hook is both metal, and also plastic coated; that detail protects the original lacquer on my 1937 Martin Handcraft Committee II with the "Mars Attacks" engraving. Highly recommended!

I bought this as an upgrade to the crappy strap that came with my new horn. The padding is very comfortable and distributes the weight of my Alto more evenly around my neck instead of directly on my spine. My only complaint is that the adjustment buckle digs in to my chest a bit when I'm playing. But for the price, this was a great upgrade for me.
