This is a replacement for a high end steam iron that began leaking after 4 years of use. It is used for quilting and fabric craft projects. Tried a similar model to the high end steam iron, but it did not perform as advertised and was returned to Amazon. Criteria for the replacement was: stainless steel sole plate, 1500 watts, separate controls for steam and temperature, use tap water, steam vents on the entire sole plate, good reviews. (My previous high end iron had 400 mini- steam vents on the sole plate and had outstanding steam production). The steam vents on this iron are larger in size and are located along the entire outer edge of the sole plate. Happy with the amount of steam production on this iron. Controls are easy to use. Water level is easy to see so you don’t overfill. Instructions for setting and using iron are clear. Clear warning to follow instructions to prevent leaks and drips. Uses tap water but if you have hard water it recommends a mix of tap and distilled water. The retractable cord is a nice to have feature. Initially the cord did not fully retract after 4 attempts. Discovered you need to ensure the cord retracts along the width of the pulley and does not bunch up in one spot. If you do this correctly, the cord fully retracts. It also has a 3 year limited warranty. This was about 1/3 the cost of the high end steam iron I replaced. Excellent replacement

After over 20 years of use, my Rowenta started leaking. Not wanting to spend a lot of money, decided to give this $26 iron a try. It's great. Heats up almost immediately. Very easy to see & move the settings. Easy to fill the water, too. Was surprised it had a retractable cord, but it works just fine. Steam works great. I mostly iron cotton fabrics for quilting & I'm pleased with the results. The negatives I see are that it has to be unplugged to turn completely off. At 30 minutes of inactivity, it beeps & shuts down. However, the red light bar on the handle continues blinking unless you unplug it. I wish it just turned off, but maybe it's a safety feature? The iron is much bigger & heavier than my previous one. The sole plate is the same size, but it's a good 3" taller. And, it weighs just over 4 lbs. It felt heavy to me when I 1st used it, but not a problem now.

After years of using my shark iron, I had to buy a new one. This iron is a nice comparable to the shark products. It does heat up fast and cools down fast, which is great. One drawback that I noticed is the setting. It does not seem to Run on steam when I have the steam setting chosen so I have to push the button for steam but it does a great job ironing my clothes and I’m really satisfied

I have used almost every big name brands for clothes irons like Rowenta, Hamilton Beach, Shark etc. I noticed this while browsing and was unfamiliar with the brand but the reviews seemed glowing. Once I finally got a chance to use it I was highly impressed.Heats quickly, generous steam and glides so smoothly. I have seen some comments about the weight of the iron and frankly I just don't get it. It weighs, at most, 2 pounds? Plus irons are intentionally heavy as it contributes to the effectiveness of removing wrinkles. I will say it is somewhat large/bulky but I can look past it since the positives are so strong. My strong advice, the auto retracting power cord is just too finnicky. I wrap it around the base of the iron and I think it's just an easier solution.Overall, looking forward to see how it holds up over many months as I use an iron almost every single day. I will update my review if I have any issues down the line.

I've used the iron about a dozen times now, and it certainly works as advertised. Very nice iron for the price. The cord retraction feature works very well. You might want to guide the chord as it retracts so that is spools across the internal spindle, but it retracts completely without any real effort.

This iron seems very sturdy and heavy duty without all of the added weight. The retractable cord is great to keep things out of the way. I can see how there may come a time when it no longer retracts. You do have to make sure the cord doesn't get twisted in order for it to retract. The iron heats up pretty fast. Not fast enough for the hubby, who likes to iron everything on high heat with steam. He's getting used to it though. The self cleaning feature is great. I'm not sure if and how it works. I'm hopeful since we have terrible water here. That has killed more than one iron. I also love the automatic shut-off if the iron remains upright. As soon as it is horizontal again it turns back on. I found this helpful when ironing before packing, being able to stop and start with ease. The only thing I do wish is that it had a power button. Currently, I've to unplug it to insure it is not on. I like to leave it horizontal when not in use to keep it from tipping over. I may be missing something in the instructions that would resolve this.

Pros1. Very sleek looking2. It’s black and grey, my favorite colorsCons1. Too heavy2. Cord doesn’t retract all the way in. That feature is not fully functional.3. Looks like it should produce more steam, but it’s weak in my opinion. I had a Shark iron and that thing was a beast when it came to producing steam.
