I needed to replace the grill cloth on my Marshall 1960b cabinet that was torn during shipping. You need to get it tight so I used these canvas pliers to stretch the cloth. I ended up with a professional quality job. You can't even tell it was replaced. These pliers are very sturdy and they come with an extra spring. The rubber insert grips very well. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Works great. Makes stretching canvas onto a frame a little easier and much more effective than doing it by hand. Good tool. Good price.

As a professional artist I have stretched more canvases than I can remember - that being said I have NEVER had canvas pliers break at this point. Not only that but on the FIRST time of their being used!The rubber covering both the handle and canvas grips is high quality but the metal itself is the cheapest possible pot metal which makes this tool absolutely useless.DO NOT PURCHASE.

I was using this to help make crisp folds for some pre-scored packaging. It worked well for me until the handle literally snapped in half.I was applying some force when I would make a fold, but not enough that I would expect a metal tool of this thickness to just break in half. I am not that strong.

Very good and definitely a must-have tool if you want to stretch canvas on a frame yourself. However, it is also quite large/wide and rips the canvas if you use it too close to already stapled canvas part.It probably works better for very large canvas (my go to sizes are ~60x80 cm)
