Comfortable fit, and better noise reduction than my Walkers. I use the DD for my rifle which is definitely louder than my pistols and I’m very happy with the results. Price was right as well. Last, their customer service and website is very response. These folks offer the total package: quality products at a great price, and responsive service. Thank you, DD!

This hearing protection had the Highest decibel rating I could find on Amazon. They are PERFECT. At the gun range, I’m shooting 22’s, but 30’ from me they’re shouting 9MM. I can barely hear them. They’re priced right, compact, “fold up†to save room in my “Shoot Box, are built Solid, and quite comfortable to wear. I am VERY pleased. I Highly recommend these Decibel Defense ear muffs to protect your hearing.

I have some neighbors with motorcycles....A couple Harleys and some other motorcycle I'm not sure the brand....They start them up....and the instant they press the ignition and the motor starts there is from silence to this sudden loud THUNK which will spook anybody out of their sleep....Then they let the motorcycles idle which is loud in and of itself....And then they just rev rev rev rev.....For as long as 15 to 30 minutes....At the worst times....Early in the morning....really late at night....I have always had super sensitive hearing....And they roll their bikes just outside their garage and start them up....30 feet away is my bedroom window and the wall borders all 3 bedrooms so there is no escaping getting woken out of sleep....I have found some great and comfortable earplugs which I wear pretty much 24/7 because the sound of things such as cars and trucks driving down the road is just so loud to my ears....I wish they had earplugs that were stronger and block out everything....But apparently not....if a person wants complete silence apparently the only option is blast loud music until you go so deaf you need hearing aids to listen to someone talking to you across the table....Anyways....I needed more sound blocking than my really nice and comfortable earplugs because I'm getting blasted with like 120 decibels from these people and their Harleys....which jolts anybody out of deep sleep....I have tried a few of these over the ear muffs and these seem to do a pretty good job, the first pair was I think maybe unbranded....They worked good but soon my ears hurt because they didn't have enough room so the top and bottom of my ears would rub and get sore....I couldn't wear them very long plus they would catch some hair in the side parts that adjust the fit, I tried another brand something like pro for sho.... Or something like that....They work okay....But they were "Made low profile thin" like when somebody buys something to protect their hearing they are going to care about something like that....They worked okay, but before long they seemed to be blocking less and less sound....So I went looking for something else....I decided to try these....They seem to really be doing a good job so far.....Sure they are a tad bulky but I'm not looking for style points....I'm trying to get peace and quiet my hearing vs neighbors Harleys....These so far seem to be doing just what I need....They are also quite comfortable too....They don't make my ears or sides or top of my head sore...They seem to be blocking out noise just like I need if I am going to get sleep....The other brand soon started blocking less and less sound, unfortunately..... Hopefully these will last and won't also start losing sound blocking abilities.....I wonder about how it's listed as 37Db but then it also says it meats the standard max of 34Db.....So is it 37 or 34? It seems to say it's both, which is odd....But so far.....So good.....Peace and quiet even with the jerks next door who make tons of noise with their Harleys at all hours....I like the fact these are so far very comfortable to fit....Even to sleep in..... Hopefully these hold up well over time....At this point, I definitely recommend these, they are big, yes, but they block more sound because they create a good seal and they are comfortable to wear, even for sleep.

I love the headset but wish they built in a little more space for larger heads. They fit comfortably without a hat but I work at a range all day every day and I have to wear a baseball hat is part of the range officer uniform. Even with just a regular baseball cap it's tight getting ear cups over my ears comfortably. That said the noise reduction is excellent. And they seem to be built fairly sturdy. Time will tell when you wear them a lot.

I was breaking apart a 80 year old cast iron tub (they don’t make them that heavy duty anymore), in a small upstairs bathroom. I was using earplugs, then thick cotton pads and finally a set of closed headphones. The sound was deafening, (it sounded like I was in a bell tower), and after a few hits, it was clear I was going to damage my hearing so I searched for ear protection. I was pretty sure these Decibel Defense ear protectors would help but was totally amazed at how effective they were in deadening the sound. The unit was well worth the price - they deserve their high rating, and were very comfortable. I bought the large size which were easily adjusted to fit and will use them again whenever working in loud conditions.

Work better than ones that cost me more $$$. Almost 2 years old now and are holding up great! Great fit and very comfortable. I regularly wear them for well over an hour at a time.

CON:Took couple weeks to get the bright color set I wanted, but I do not take that from the rating as it was my choice and could have had other colors in 2-days. It was worth the wait.PRO:1. They don't talk about the headsets comfort on top of the head, but the incremental padding is real nice and the fit well, seal perfectly, to make a comfortable hearing protection headset.2. They are quality made, not chintzy. These headsets met expectations, if not I would say so and send them back - done that enough times. I am more than willing willing to pay a premium price for quality, then expect quality, which these are.3. With hearing loss I am sensitive now to loud noises; therefore, Zero Turn mower and tractor when running implements cause issues for me. I typically was using earplugs and other hearing muffs together to get the protection needed. These muffs work well just by themselves. Plus to this I can now use wifi earbuds to listen to music at low volume level while mowing or working.

There is a short discussion on the box of a noise reduction ratio (NRR) that they say is 37 dB, which is why I bought them. However, then they go on to indicate that the OSHA-approved NRR is 34 dB. I already had a set of 33 dB ear protectors, so I was less than impressed with the rating. Just listening to ambient noises, I couldn't tell any difference in the noise attenuation between the two protectors. They are OK, but, at least in my opinion, not worth buying if you already have 33 dB ear protectors.UPDATE: I took the plastic outside off a "Dobie" kitchen scrubber and cut the foam pad in half. Then, I stuffed each half into the earmuffs, making sure it was below the lip of the earpads all the way around. I don't know how much exactly, but it made a noticeable improvement in the sound deadening.

Does background noise drive you crazy? Live in a small house with teenagers? Both you and your partner work from home? Is your desk right by the GD kitchen with the clinking clanking and arguing over leftovers while you're trying to debug code? These headphones block noise from high frequency (clinking cutlery, daughter telling son to f* off) to low frequency (slamming doors, husband yelling at both teens) better than any other ear muffs I tried. I can wear them all day, while wearing glasses! they are nice and comfy. They also fit noise-cancelling earbuds underneath so you can have a double layer of noise defence while simultaneously playing background music.

I use the defender in an open space office in order to reduce ad much add possible the noise of colleagues speaking around me. The defender does a good job reducing the noise but it doesn't do miracles, even with it I can still hear that people talk, and sometimes I can even understand what they say.I often use earplugs together with the defender to give a more optional noise reduction. After an hour of use a feel some pressure on the ears due to the defenders squeezing on them so I take them off for a few minutes.
