Well for sure, I didn't read the description well enough, because I wasn't expecting gargantuan needles, ha ha! But I am delighted with what I received and will use many of them for various projects . Some of these needles are as long as 12 inches! I certainly didn't know such a thing existed but it seems as though there has got to be some use for that and I am here for it.I ordered because I was looking for a strong needle around 3 - 4 inches long for knitting situation where I needed to thread yarn through a substantial thickness. These will definitely do that job! I am delighted by the variety and will happily put this in my knitting supplies. I will note that most of the tips were sharp (sharp enough to pierce fabric) but a few were too blunt for that. That's not an issue for me, but if they need to be super sharp for your purpose, make sure this is right for you. These are very strong and for the most part, straight. Also, the needles had poked a hole in the corner of their plastic bag and all fell out when I opened them. Watch that, you don't want one of these large needled imbedded in the top of your foot, ha ha.
