It is packaged in a brown cardboard box.This product presented a perfect solution to setting up an impromptu home theater in my family room.In my previous home, we had finished the basement and a home theater. Every Saturday night was pizza and movie night for the family and the kids loved it. When we moved into a larger home, the basement was unfinished and setting up the home theater in an unfinished basement was unappealing. I wanted to set up the home theater on a temporary basis in the family room which has a large three-section entertainment center. Unfortunately, the combination of the center section being forward from the sides and having delicate molding at the top prevented hanging my home theater screen from the entertainment center.Enter this product! At last, a solution for a home theater-size screen in the family room! At 120 inches, this product is larger than my 96 inch Da-Lite pulldown screen. Best of all, it is self standing and does not need to be hung on anything.A bit of assembly is required: the product consists of metal screw-in 16 inch sections and there are a lot of sections. It isn’t hard, though. The instructions are clear and each section is labeled. Once the metal sections are assembled, they are inserted into cloth tunnels along the borders of the fabric screen. Having two people for this step would be helpful, however I did it myself when my children did not beckon my call for assistance.The size of the assembled product is impressive: it stands over 7 feet tall. The screen is 9 feet wide and 5 feet high. That is a generous size screen for a home theater!The screen itself is made of white cloth. It is neither a lenticular screen nor glass beaded. As far as I could tell, the screen has no coating. It is like using a white bedsheet. It does not have the same reflectivity as my Da-Lite pull-down screen.With my Epson 8700 UB Home Cinema projector in THX mode, the projected image appeared dull and dim. However, when I switched the projector to Living Room mode, the picture looked great! Because most living rooms have ambient light falling on the screen, the projector increases light output while maintaining color balance and contrast. The result was perfect on the screen in my family room with most of the lights out.An advantage to this screen is it is acoustically transparent. With three home theater speakers behind the screen, the sound was clear and resilient without being muffled.As an added bonus, my infrared remotes for the Blu-ray player and the sound amplifier worked fine even though the screen was completely blocking the infrared sensors on my equipment.Other observations:1. The top of the metal frame sags slightly in the middle. The bottom frame does not. I do not know if this is inherent to the product or a misassembly or over-tightening of the screen on my part.2. The tripod stands can be rotated slightly to make the screen flat if it is canted to one side.3. Most wrinkles in the screen cloth tend to flatten as the screen is drawn taunt from side to side and top to bottom. Remaining small wrinkles are not visible when projecting a movie.4. The assembled screen is not difficult for two people to move Into another room without any disassembly.In summary, I am delighted with this product. It solved the issue of how to set up a temporary home theater in our comfortable family room. The screen size is amazing and it was great to have pizza and movie night once again with the family! I am glad I ordered this product and I recommend it.
