This cage is absolutely everything I wanted it to be. Ok. Time for some backstory. My dog is a lil complicated. Her name is Fiona, she is a 60+ lbs bullypit with a rough past that I took in off the streets and she has SEVERE thunderstorm/loud noise anxiety. This terrible fear of loud noises has caused her to freak out and start eating walls, trim inside and outside, and absolutely destroy her wire cage. It was like a Kong cage. Last straw was when I came back home after a thunderstorm and she was left alone, she almost ate through my bedroom door. There was a pile of shavings mixed with saliva and blood from her hurting herself trying to get into my room (she thinks I am in there). She also likes to poop/pee on the floor when I am not looking. (sometimes when I am looking, too 🤷â€â™€ï¸.) In additon, she is HIGHLY aggressive/fiercely protective of me, which makes having guests over a real problem. She has problems, ok?Anyway, I had dreamed of a cage that she could not get out of. Ideally, one she wouldn't even TRY to get out of. It would change everything... No more coming home to a destroyed house, or sticking her in the closet/bathroom so she wouldn't murder the company, coming back to poop and pee everywhere, etc.It got to the point where I basically kept a towel in the washer for the pee. Sometimes it would be a streak for days that that was the first thing I did in the morning was go and clean up her nastiness off my floor. Felt and smelled like it was a barn I was living in and not my house.. ANYWAY, I got fed up (putting it lightly, I was really at my wit's end) and went for it. I bought this ProSelect cage, honestly not knowing how it was going to turn out. I was worried I was spending a bunch of money on another cage she would simply destroy, but I had no other options. Literally none. Not even rehoming her, since she is a homicidal lil critter and I could NEVER rehome her in good conscience. Plus she isn't just any homicidal critter, she's my homicidal critter, and I love her. This cage is everything I wanted. IT HOLDS HER. THE OTHER REVIEW PEOPLE ARE RIGHT, THIS CAGE IS SO STRONG THE DOG WILL LITERALLY GIVE UP AND NOT TRY TO ESCAPE AFTER ABOUT A WEEK. My house doesn't smell like pee all the time anymore. For whatever reason she was ok with going on the floor, but holds it for the most part if she is in her cage lol. Can't dirty up her own house I guess haha. This cage keeps her and the guests safe, which means everything to me. I know how you are feeling, person reading this review. I know what you're thinking, "yehhh ok so it holds YOUR dog, wont hold mine." PLS, JUST BUY THE CAGE. If it hold's my house-wrecking, cage-destroying, senile dumpsterfire of a pup, it WILL hold yours. I got the cage July 2nd, it is August 9th and I have had zero problems thus far. Very early on, she tried to escape and scraped a little tiny bit of paint. That's it.I know this cage is $300 bucks, but your peace of mind and sanity is priceless. This cage will restore both.Set up was super easy, btw. I did it on my own. And the wheels lock in place, so the cage won't roll all over the place. Delivery time was QUICK. Yona even likes it, she RUSHES to get into sometimes lol, I think it makes her feel secure. AND it looks kinda nice, to boot. EDIT: It's 9/7/21 and it is still holding up perfectly, no problems at all.

My dog is a professional escape artist and has gotten out of five different cages/kennels. He doesn't even try to get out of this one. I had to put cardboard on the bottom because there is nothing but metal bars on the floor of the cage. I actually used the shipping box as a cage floor. The cage is bigger than I thought it would be. The medium the equivalent of a large to any other cage brand. My dog actually loves this cage. He goes in and lays in it when the door is opened. I recomend getting the dog used to the cage before locking him or her in it. I left the cage open for about a week after it was built so my dog could get used to it. I also put his food in there so he had to try the cage out. He started lounging in the cage after a day or two. So this way after a week when I locked him in it for the first time he wasn't shocked or scared.I paired this cage with an anti barking collar which is humane and vibrates when the dog barks. The two together work wonders and I can now go out and leave my apartment without having to worry about destruction to my home or neighbors complaining because of the noise. I was on the verge of having to give away my pup until I tried this cage with the anti barking collar. It's a miracle. I would highly recomend to anyone with a dog that has separation anxiety, a dog that's destructive, or a has a dog that needs to be left alone for a period of time. Also my dog has been known to rub his nose against the doors of other cages until his nose is cut o turns pink/red. He doesn't have anything to rub against with this cage so he no longer can injur himself. The cage is very easy to build and comes with the tools you need. It took me about ten minutes and I didn't know what the heck I was doing. The bars on the cage are very thick and can't be chewed through. The door has two secure locking mechanisms that cannot be opened by the dogs paws or teeth. The cage is also on wheels so it can be moved from room to room. The wheels can be locked in place. There is a removable tray type thing underneath the cage floor in case of accidentle spills or waste left by the dog. The cage is VERY heavy. It took two people to bring the package inside when it arrived. I guess that's why it has wheels. It is very well built and very sturdy. I think it's made of steel. I think it could withstand a natural disaster. I guess that's it. Hope this helps!

Our new rescue dog was experiencing a lot of anxiety and had already eaten through and escaped from two other cages (1 plastic, 1 metal). The description of this cage was exactly what we were looking for. Our new addition is now safe and sound and we do not have to worry about her hurting herself trying to escape.

Finally something that works !!!Our 55lb Shepherd Cross suffers from separation anxiety. Has destroyed 2 wire crates, along with shoes, The arm of a couch, rugs etc.We tried anything and everything. We love our pets, and since he’s had such a rough start in life, until we rescued him, there was no way we were going to give up on him. He whines at first when we first put him in, but when we get home he’s lying down quietly. ( maybe he’s given up on trying to escape)We know that he won’t hurt himself trying to be like Houdini. The only thing I would recommend is that you put the tray down on the floor or something that their paws won’t get caught in.The reason we’re giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the cost. But if it keeps our Dog safe and also gives us peace of mind that the house won’t be destroyed then it’s well worth it.

Our escape artist hasn’t been able to get out of this one but we must use clips/carabiners to secure the latches. The downside is that the paint finish is coming off and there is rusting now because our dog chews on the bars. You’d think that a crate designed to keep anxious dogs put would have considered using a different paint or coating. It’s vwry sturdy with is awesome but also impossible to travel with.
