Ordered this helmet along with a few other brands to compare. One of the other ones was certified and one was not (note that this particular helmet is not certified so it lacks the styrofoam insert). It does however have an excellent foam insert. Because it’s not certified it’s for low impact hits/crashes. I knew this when purchasing so I knew what I was getting. I’m using this for standard longboard skateboard cruising so I don’t need anything more. Whether you go with a certified helmet or not is really dependent on what you will be using the helmet for and personal preference.As soon as I tried this helmet on, I knew of the three I had ordered that this was going to be the keeper. It literally fits like a perfect sized glove on my head. So comfortable and it sits nice and low unlike many helmets that sit high on your head. As a result it looks great and you don’t look like a mushroom head. Which means you’ll be more likely to wear this helmet. Who wants to look like an extra from Space Balls?This is a really great helmet with adequate protection for what I’ll be using it for. If your going to be riding an e-board or biking this is probably not the helmet for you and you should probably consider Pro-Tec’s certified helmet which usually runs about 20 bucks more.

Tried a $100. Thousand, tried others featured here for less - all were too ballooned!Finally found this one that does NOT Bul-Bu-Tize my head.Sits low as shown, and did I mention a perfect, snug and stable fit for a bloke with a perfect 7-1/4" hat size?I didn't even have to adjust the buckle.I own a Pro-Tec size Large, exactly this same Pro-Tec helmet from years past and it rattles around on my head. So, there you have it.7-1/4" or (58 cm)? You'll get a Medium.7-3/8 or larger, get a size Large.Measure your widest circumference above the top ears with your flexible tape or a string. Once and done. You'll LIKE this helmet. I use mine for electric single-wheeling and my cruiser bike. Take the tailpiece of the chin strap and wrap it once or twice around the main strap to hide it.Your riding profile will "blend".Update: I don't like logos. The solid black helmet is an n.o.s., size Large Pro-Tec helmet from their Stealth era, when surfers had denounced "claiming" a wave-ride as uncool (with hands up in the air, etc.), but I can't hold for overstating the obvious now. The cure instead of a black felt-tip is this paint. I already know what I'm going to do to erase the words and the spade with something I can live with, and have the best fitting helmet.

Teaching the kids to skate meant I get to relearn stuff too so helmets for all. The most important thing to learn early is falling as no matter a skateboarders skill level they fall. This is my favorite style of helmet as it protects the back of the head great, which is likely to get whacked when rolling out of a fall.

i needed protection for a new sport i acquired which is longboarding. i needed a product for security and also confort. also i wanted an item with cool colors, not the same classic color black. Pro-tec are one of the best brand used by skaters and longboarders. my friends all used it so i decided to buy the same. i am very happy with this product. it's been twice that i had a big fall going downhill and i haven't had, not even a scratch on my helmet. it's a very tough helmet i recommend this product. PB

I tried out a few other helmets before buying another one, because I wanted to see if other brands were as reliable. Unfortunately, they just didn't feel as secure as this one, so I ended up purchasing this helmet again, and I'm not disappointed in the slightest. I use it for biking, and many other helmets only sit on the top of the head, and don't feel laterally supportive, Pro-tec does NOT have that problem. My noggin feels supported and safe from all angles, and I am not worried about it falling off if I get into an unfortunate accident. Glad I just purchased what I know and trust

So I am a spry near 40 year old. I decided to take up one wheeling. Turns out there is a learning curve. I hit the road at 21mph and the helmet deflected any severe brain damage..... depending on who you ask. Great helmet, Super slim and lightweight.
