Prothane's polyurethane body mount bushings are designed to replace the soft factory rubber bushings on the Sport Trac model only, not the Base or the Sport models.

The 1st generation Sport Trac has 4 mounts on each side of cab. A-B-C-D. A being each side of grille, D being rear of cab. The factory mounts C&D are total junk from factory. These are under drivers foot, and just behind front seats. Made of some type of junk, degrading foam. Ended up ordering new bolts & matching nuts for grille before even starting job, because they will never come off, too much rust being directly in front of front tires. Had to buy at Fastenal, part# 11114576, along with matching nuts. One bolt each side. The rest of the bolts were reusable, but needed high heat to loosen loctite. Did not replace rear (D position) because they were in new shape and there is a trick to getting apart, not worth the effort. Suggest you watch youtube video before beginning job. Once finished, ride is incredibly better. Zero clunks, tight body, etc. Well worth the $ and effort to install. Plan ahead, and have a full weekend, or a 2nd vehicle in the meantime. Took me approx 8 total hours with acetylene and air tools. Front seats will need to be unbolted, and pushed forward to get under mat to get at bolts, but seats can stay in vehicle.

We installed these on a 2003 Ford Sport Trac at my shop. They seemed to fit well and all pieces were included.

Nicely built and the instructions were excellent. The part numbers are printed on each and every piece and they even say top or bottom as well as position a,b,c,d. ... Watch some videos on changing them. Removing the bolts can be a strain and you really need a small hand held torch to heat the ends of the bolts to soften the loc-tite. Be ready to replace the A position bolts because the originals really get messed up where they live. These were on a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. No special tools needed but plenty of extensions to reach the top nuts on the A position. Plan on a full day to change these. I needed to remove the front seats which is easy but still takes some time.

The body feels as firm as it did when new. My B and C mounts were completely gone. My A and D mounts looked solid so I left them. Ford used some sort of soft spongy material for their B and C mounts that disintegrated rapidly. Any 1st Gen Ford Sport Trac that's not had them replaced most likely at this point won't have much left of the B and C body mounts. The job itself wasn't a hard job to do, you will need a good floor jack, and a good thick wood block to get enough lift to do it. I used an impact wrench which made the most fiddly part of the job getting to the bolts inside the cab. You have to remove some trim pieces, and I'd recommend going ahead and removing the front seats, but I think you could do it without taking them completely out. But I recommend using the opportunity to give your cab a thorough cleaning. The job from start to finish took me several hours, but if I had to do it again, I could probably do it in under 2 hours. Like anything, take your time, make a plan and work the plan. It's not hard. The average DIYer can probably do it on a Saturday afternoon.Oh, one word of advice: Don't use the side nerf bars to lift the truck. I saw a YouTube mechanic do it that way and I'm surprised he didn't destroy it. You need to get yourself a 4x4 woodblock and jack the body directly at the weld points. Find a strong point approximately between the B and C mount.

Installed these on my Ford Explorer Sport Trac. This is a good DIY kit. Check out the YouTube videos for tips and tricks. This job took me a solid weekend because its just a battle busting all the bolts loose. I would recommend a couple extra jacks, 12" plus of ratchet extensions, vice grips, Wd40, and general mechanic tools. The job is expensive to have done at a shop and was well worth my troubles. Getting access to the locations was not difficult or complicated. The real battle for me was in breaking the bolts loose. I also did this mostly by myself. This totally improved my ride.

Nothing to dislike about them! They were better quality than I could imagined!! Labeled so you couldn’t mistake placement as well! Highly recommend!!!
