I really struggled to install them. Using hot water, heat gun , Sunlight ,dish soap & silicone spray. The material thickness is pretty inconsistent & they add a fair bit of weight to your oars . Granted they don’t weigh a ton however you’re putting the weight at the very tip of the oar & in doing so it will decrease the buoyancy of your oar tip. Not a big deal when on a lake, but a oar tip digging into the river bottom could be dangerous..

Protoco never responded to my email asking if these tips would fit the Caviness G70 7' Marine Painted Oar because the description mentions "paddles" not "oars" and there are a variety of Caviness paddles and oars for sale.So, I contacted Amazon before purchasing to be certain I could return the tips if they didn't fit. I was told I could do so, I ordered them and they do fit. The product looks fine on the oars and was easy to work with. I heated the tips in very hot water for 5 minutes and they slipped in my painted oars without having to use soap or the like. .I'm pleased that Amazon worked with me, disappointed that the company didn't.

I boiled them, then slid them on and allowed to shrink to the paddles for a few days. Came off within 5 minutes. If you need to protect your wood paddles/oars, suggest going a different route.

Work good for protecting oar tips. Warming them up in hot water for installation works great.

These were re-labeled with a sticker. Were not item as described. 1 1/2 inches too big. RETURNED FOR REFUND. DO NOT BUY!

Fit perfectly on my new Caviness BW80 OAR VARNISHED 8 FT .( after I soaked them in hot water, I use gloves on my hands)
