I was first introduced to this stuff when setting up the winch on my jeep.Synthetic winch rope is strong and can be abused more than cable (tight angles etc), but it doesn't like to rub against rocks and other stuff.The solution is to install some of this stuff on the winch rope.Synthetic also has another limitation, direct sunlight will slowly weaken it.So i have this stuff setup so it covers the winch rope to protect it from the sun, and it's sitting there ready to use when the time comes.And while out boating this summer, another use came to me.On a boat anchor you need a section of weighted chain to help a sand anchor bite into the sand, then you can use rope afterwards.The hard part is with the chain and painted surfaces.Especially when your both trying to operate the vessel, and either drop or pull up the anchor.I tried the idea of installing this stuff over the chain, it worked great!Much smoother overall and it's slick against my deck and flooring.It holds onto water a little, but it drains and dries quickly.So I'm calling that a solid win.

This just arrived and I got it installed on the chain to my anchor. The material feels durable and well made. The previous chain sleeve was deteriorated from the sun and beginning to fall apart. I hope this one holds up well against the sun.

I used this product as a sleeve for the safety chains on my travel trailer hitch.I cut sections of this material to length to cover 2 chains. I then used a torch to melt the ends of the material so it wouldn’t fray and I was able to easily thread the chain through this material and provide a really nice cover for my chains.
