I got this bar, because I do like to do pull-ups, or I used to. I used to have one of those bars that you hang above the door frame, that served me well for years. But the house I’m in now has non-standard door frames, and I could not use it anymore. So when I saw this one, where you didn’t have to screw anything in, I was very excited. I decided to give it a shot, and the results have been mostly good, but a little mixed.First off, once you get out of the box, it feels pretty sturdy. You’re able to kind of spiral out the arms to give them a good reach. I was able to spread it across my old door jams. My house is from the early 20th century, so they are not like ordinary ones. The bar I was able to follow the instructions on, they were a little confusing, but I got there in the end. Once I tried it now, it worked for about the first 10 or 12 pull-ups, and then it started sliding down a bit. I’ve used it three or four times since, and every time I have to slide it back up some.I was really hoping this would be a one stop thing. But I think I might have to look elsewhere, or get one that actually you have to screw into the door jam, which I do not want. This will work for now, but you do have to adjust it after use. And I will be watching out for if it scratches my paint.

I followed the instructions, tightened the bar up until it actually started to spread the door jamb. As soon as my 200lb self grabbed on for a trial run, the bar started sliding down the door jamb. Those little rubber pads did not hold the bar from sliding.Perhaps for a lighter person or child this would work but not for me.

This Pull Up Bar for Doorway, is not easy to put up. It push the wood on the doorways and loosen it. And it seem like slide down.

This is actually a solid pull-up bar. There are 2 main issues with it.1) The instructions are a bit of a pain to figure out. They don't explain that the middle of the bar that twists goes all the way up to the ends of the red locks, so it means the whole middle. You do have to twist everything as instructed and lock it in for it to stick properly.2) There is a minimum and maximum length specified, so don't presume that it will fit in your expected doorway(s). This was too long for my bedroom ones so I had to set it up elsewhere on a wider frame. You'd think everything would be more standardized and this would work with all doors but nope, some frames just won't work.Once those criteria are met, it works great. Good grip, easy to adjust the height for different things, and strong support. The leveler makes it simple to keep straight during installation. The fact that it doesn't need to secure to anything other than the doorframe sides is great. If you're sure that your setup meets the requirements, then I would recommend this bar.

I was very excited to get this bar, one of the things about it that really made it pop for me was the fact that is versatile where you can place it.Holding it it’s sturdy enough, I did expect it to be a little rougher, but it is comfortable.Seems like I can bang it around and drop it and it will last a bit, there’s help with being level in the middle, overall I really appreciate having this.I’m looking forward to it.

I don't really know how to review the Pull Up Bar for Doorway, Free Standing & Door Workout Equipment Home Gym, because I don't know if it's a me issue, house issue or a product issue. It's possible I just don't have the strength to tighten it up against my door frame properly. But, when I was tightening it, I stopped because I heard my door frame creaking. I am not sure if that is what is expected or if it was putting too much pressure on the frame. When I put my weight on the bar, it started to slide down. Granted, I am not a light weight by any means, so I don't know if that played a part or not.As far as the bar itself, it's very heavy and feels really sturdy. It's definitely not cheaply made. I like the level indicator. That's a great feature.

This pull up bar has pretty solid plastic materials all around, and it's way more robust than I had expected. I appreciate the addition of the level to help assist us in keeping it straight, but the silicone pad that goes against the doorframe is a bit wide for our older doorways and we can't get it to stay put just yet. It's not like me and my husband are heavy either, as we're both well under 155 lbs, so we barely meet the max weight of this together. We can manage to get a tight, level fit, but it still slides a bit without that extra 1/8" of support that's hanging over the frame. Regardless, I'm impressed by the materials, and silicone/foam padding for an easy grip. I'll have to try it out in a different doorway, but we just don't want to potentially ruin walls either. One day I'll get my upper body strength back to where it will be.
