Dental Health is absolutely the only dry cat food that my 13 year old Burmese Cat, Simon desires to eat. Back when he was just a kitten, he selected a dry cat food called Dental Diet which was manufactured by Friskies Purina. Dental Diet was, at that time (2000) available at Publix stores in Lake Placid, Florida. Publix stopped carrying this product and we found it again at a pet store in Ft. Myers, FL (80 miles away.) Later, after moving north to Inverness, Florida, we were able to buy Dental Diet at Pet Smart in Ocala, FL. After a few years, Dental Diet was not available at Pet Smart so I had to search for a comparable dry cat food to satisfy my cat's needs. The only cat food I could actually find was Royal Canin brand but my Burmese was not as happy with this product. He would go days without eating and also lost a couple of his small front, lower teeth. His breath smelled terrible, as well. Finally, after writing to Purina we are able to find Dental Health on Amazon.com which we do appreciate that it is back to being available. The larger kibble seems to be very benefical in removing the placque from his teeth. This is the only food that our Burmese eats. He has never eaten wet cat food & I believe this has been attributed to his overall good health and good teeth. I only wish it was available at our local Pet Supermarket here in Inverness, Florida. Thank you.

My cat's breath had recently turned a bit funky. The vet said it was mild gingivitis and suggested that I try some prescription dental cat food (that he would be happy to sell me). Failing that I'd need to have his teeth cleaned. I figured I'd see what was on Amazon first and picked up a bag of this stuff. I've been mixing a little of this in with his regular dry food and he seems to enjoy it. After a couple of weeks his breath is now back to normal. I'm pleasantly surprised about how well it worked. I'll be buying it again.

My vet recommended this to improve the dental health of my cats. Purportedly, the large, rounded nuggets "brush" your cat's teeth and gums as they bite down on them scraping off any tartar buildup. I give my cats two nuggets each along with their regular food at each feeding. They do like them but my upcoming visits to the vet will tell if it's really doing anything beneficial dentally.

I have two cats that were born with terrible teeth. One had four pulled before she was a year old and another had constant gum problems. I was having to get their teeth cleaned yearly. Now it's been three years and their teeth look amazing! Highly recommended. I will say, one of my cats is picky and he doesn't LOVE the food, but he eats it. But I mix this with small bags of Royal Canin's oral care and Science Diet's oral care food which makes him clean his plate

First purchased this at my Vet. My cat loved it. His teeth are in great shape and couldn't brush them if I tried! It was recommended. This is exactly the product purchased from my vet but $10.00 cheaper. Plus every time you walk into the Vet it's another hundred dollars!

I sprinkle a 1/3 of an envelope with each serving. My kitty needs special food for his teeth and he’s not so keen on eating it on its own. This helps with enticing him to eat it.

My 16 year old cat has never had to have her teeth cleaned, she used to eat Purina Dental Diet until it was removed from the retail shelves then replaced by this. She likes this food much better than the others I tried for her while Dental Diet was not available. I have a 1.5 yo and a 10 month old Maine Coon Cat and both of them love Dental Health diet. It is a large crunchy food nugget.

This particular dry food does exactly as advertised. It does help with kitty teeth and my finicky, picky fuzzy butts happen to like this food a lot. The problem is they may like it too much since the goal is to mix this with another dry food that has the required nutrients and vitamins for kitty diets. My fur balls tend to eat this first then pick around the other to get to it. Not a huge deal but makes for a nervous kitty momma. However, my 3 go to the veterinarian once a year, every year and more if needed for health check ups, teeth cleaning and vaccinations. My two females tend to need teeth attention more than my one male though they all are in good shape and last year my male kitty didn't require professional teeth cleaning at all. The only problem with the dry food is it might make their potty a little more firm than is comfortable so I mix the food with a tiny bit of Miralax, as suggested by my veterinarian. The food I mix with the Purina DH is Halo Turkey Sensitive. The cats like it though they prefer the Purina DH. Thank you for making this available without the prescription!
