Quad NVMe PCIe Adapter, RIITOP 4 Ports M.2 NVMe SSD to PCI-e 4.0/3.0 x16 Card with Fan SupporRemoved fan. Using in Dell R760xa chassis which has plenty of airflow. Used 4TB WD Black 850 NVME. Enabled 4x PCI bifurcation to get it to work. Setup in mdm RAID-0. Ubuntu 22 Linux. Works great. Did not do speed check, but simple single-thread rsync to write files to and from the RAID-0 was 1.5 gigabytes/sec so 3.0 GBPS total. I assume multiple threads would increase that, but have not tested.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the low price on this. But it works. Took some patience. Windows default driver did not work at first, but after a update the adapter was up and running fine. I started with one 2TB Western Digital drive and it shows up and works perfect. I decided to try my luck with a second M.2 drive, but this time I used an off-brand 4TB M.2. Plugged it in and it was up and running after a reboot. So even though it may not be recommended, I am using this adapter with 2 different brands of M.2 and both of them are different sizes. Everything is running just fine for me. May try my luck again later with a third drive

Overall: it works. Does its job. Don't forget to turn on PCI-e bifurcation. It was labeled as "PCI-e RAID" in my BIOS.Downsides: That fan. It's loud and high-pitched, and also doesn't fit right. There isn't enough space to have both the fan and also the NVMe heatsinks on. You need to choose. The bundled heatsink is even thicker than most, so shows this problem even more.I got M3 spacers to help fit the fan. But that noise is too annoying, and I gave up on that.Don't want to spend another $20 on a quieter fan, so I'll just use this product with the fan removed.

It’s small and compact, I can fit four and VME solid-state drives on air, the fact that it has a fan helps out tremendously with airflow and it’s removable in case I need to replace it. So far, I have no complaints and I may be buying another one soon to see if I can make it into a wafer where I combine multiple hard drives into one.

This was one part of a raid setup. It was lightly used for a couple of months, then it stopped working. I gave it an extra star since it did not trash the hard drives when it died.

This is a great device which I was skeptical at first, mainly due to the price and competitors. I can say the product itself meets spec with a Samsung 980 pro (Gen4) nearly maxing rated specs. I currently only have 2 drives in it but plan to add more.As others said, make sure your system supports bifurcation or 4x4 mode PCIE mode in order for the devices to be read. The real con of this is the fan. It's high pitched and frankly obnoxious. It is much louder than anything in my system at idle and it was so bad a day in I had to disconnect it and remove the shroud entirely, which in turn saves space as it's not a true 1 slot PCIE device with it on.As for temps, I will monitor them, but I assume they will be fine as my system has plenty of airflow going through it. Depending on your setup (ie. a server), this might not be a big deal, but if you had a quiet desktop to begin with, this won't be nice with the fan running.

Looks nice is an issue because the fan is too fat, and it only identifies on M.2 card.

I liked that this card has LEDs that indicate which slots are currently functioning (i.e. have a drive in them). This does NOT mean that bifurcation is working. This card relies on the motherboard to have built in bifurcation support so you need to check if this will work for you.I liked the active cooling as opposed to the adapters that have a heat sink because some NVMEs come with the heatsink pre-attached meaning you would have to peel it off before inserting it into the adapteroverall no issues with the adapter. Seems to work well . I haven't ran speed tests with the same nvme on the motherboard vs plugged into the adapter. But for my usecase this seems to do the job
