Try to resemble the angle you are going to be cutt.
Take your strip and lay it diagonally on your cutting mat.
Lay the ruler on top, aligning the 30 ,45°, 60 angles cutting line.

Found out I'm not very accurate in cutting squares until I found this ruler. The amount of time I save cutting is almost unbelievable. Extremely accurate and have not waisted any fabric. Would highly recommend this produce it's a game changer!!

The seller reached out to me and provided a new ruler since mine was scratched as well as provided instructions. Five stars for seller. I'll say the product is 3.5-4 stars. I had to buy a new rotary cutter (Fiskars 60mm regular only) and made sure it was deep enough to get through multiple layers and the ruler so that was an added expense. I still have a bit of a learning curve on using the ruler when I cut multiple rows at the same time. I think simpler markings would make it easier to use - just my two cents worth.Original reviewI finally broke this out today. When I ordered I did not get grippers or instructions of any kind. The ruler is thick. The film on the ruler was very difficult to remove - finally got a pin to get a hold of it to remove it. It's easy to see but too thick. I understand this makes the ruler more sturdy. However, neither my 45 Olfa (regular) nor my 60mm Fiskars Comfort Grip will cut completely through the material even though that is what is state to use on the site. Both cutters ride on the top of the rule and now it is marred. I tried cutting 4 layers of fabric (since the ruler isn't very larger so folder one and then again to get a continuous strip) and it just wouldn't let the cutters go down far enough to cut. The issue is the blade does not come out far enough to go all the way down through the rule and into the fabric. If I can only cut one layer at a time then this is not as useful as I had hoped. I will try to find a cutter that has more blade clearance before I decide to give up on the rule.

This is a very substantial ruler. I’m sewing 16 patches for quilts for my grands and the accuracy is right on! As with any slotted ruler, never grab with one hand. Use two so it doesn’t snap off an end. My only problem is that I can’t cut ten layers at once. Quality over quantity is this ruler’s best attribute. I use a 60mm blade which works best for me. The price is one third of another creative ruler.

I only received this a few hours ago.. beautifully packaged... This is truly a quilters & crafters dream... I sometimes have struggled keeping my strips completely straight with the roller-cutter...THIS takes the uncertainty away... within the first 15 minutes of opening the package, I had cut many (PERFECT) 1", 2.5" & 5" strips and squares... It will definitely make my quilting a lot easier & the price point is just right. I thoroughly recommend this.

Kind of a newbie to quilting and sewing. Cutting strips with the regual ruler was time consuming. This became a life saver. Made very sturdy. Guides are easy to get knife in. I get perfectly straight cuts with multi layers of fabric. Will buy a longer one in the future.

Info says Package：Ruler Dimension: 15inch*13inch, Comes with nonslip self adhesive silicone grips can help you avoid slippage of the ruler and template when using the rotary cutter, so that the cutting is safer and more accurate. However I cant see any grips in the package.
