Holds a 14' Old Town tandem otter, which also weighs over 80lbs. It was super easy to install, and everything was good quality. Even the hardware which I was skeptical of because of some reviews but the screws they sent me were pretty heavy duty. Even the drywall anchors all worked fine without any issues, and I usually have to buy a pack from the hardware store to use instead but not with these. They all worked fine. I screwed the center screws directly into the studs of the garage wall (after drilling pilot holes) and then added the drywall anchors for added support. I don't think you necessarily need the drywall anchors but if you have a heavy kayak like mine, it's good insurance in case something fails. Great product, and really helps with storage space. Will probably buy another set for my other kayak.Edit: bought a second set for my fishing kayak, a 10' Lifetime Teton 100. Again, worked great. Only issue was I mounted to a fance on the posts, and the posts were a little farther apart than I anticipated, so I had to put the hooks a bit further apart than I would've liked. This meant that the shape of the hull being thicker towards the bow and stern caused it to sit a little awkward on the hooks, but I used a couple of cam straps to secure the kayak and that solved the problem. So all in all, these are absolutely great, and have no complaints. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Needed to hang my kayak in our garage and these were the perfect solution! They were easy to install and have proven to be quite sturdy! They allow us to maximize storage space and safely store our kayak. Highly recommend to anyone looking to store their water vessel!

I like many others read the review before purchasing. I notice the main complaint was that the screw suck out a bit. However, I am very mechanicaly inclined and thought I could find a solution. The issueI noticed the the male end that slips into the female end only had one hole to align the screw. I then measured the screw and found that it is exactly the right size to fit in the inside diameter of the female end. This is where the problem arises, because the male end only had one hole the screw could not fully seat. The fixSo, you have two options either cut the screw to the appropriate size, or drill the hole in the male end all the way through. I chose to drill because holding and cutting small pieces of metal is a lot more time consuming and more difficult. After drilling the holes, the screw sat perfectly. Hope this helps anyone who is having issues.I chose not to use any of the provided hardware except the machine screw show in the red circle. As for the hangers themselves, love them.

So yes, I knew about a couple of things when I purchased these. I have plenty of tools and made short work of modifying the screws that hold the two sections together. That said, this is why I dinked it a star--- the solution is so simple and would cost them zero.... they should have made the screw that holds the two sections go side to side--- problem solved. Also it only puts the one side of the screw in shear--- not both, so if it passed through and the nut was on the far side... the two halves would be even more secure... What others have said and I agree--- the screw sticks out and can scratch/gouge your kayak, etc. I shortened the screw with an angle grinder and a flap wheel--- but again, I have tools and that is not what you may have. A file would work, but will just take longer....or go purchase two screws that are 1/8" shorter. That aside, I have two kayaks that I wanted to get off of the ground as they were always dirty on the bottom and water would get inside...and leaves (I do have the cockpit covers, but water still made its way in. I was looking to find a mount for outside and the first brand I bought on Amazon--- they simply were not going to work. I ended up finding these and bought two sets. After some measuring and marking where I wanted them to mount, I did not use the included screws and used some from my collection of coated decking screws to mount it to the outside of my shed. Once up, they are solid. These were used with 11' long 54-pound kayaks and they are now nicely off of the ground and with them hanging sideways and covers on....water and debris inside as well as dirt on the outside are now but a thing of the past. It also makes it much better to grab them and go--- they are at a much better lifting height. I have one that is about waist height and the second is above that is just above my shoulders--- so easy to get either one.Overall, they work well and besides the known issues, I will be buying two more sets in the future for another location that we keep them as they have definitely been a positive upgrade for our watersports.

A few screws and done. My only gripe is that the screws it comes with to mount the rack are too long to put into the side of your average shed or the side of a 2X4. They stick out the other side and are a hazard. Put them in longways on the 2X4 and it will be okay.

I gave this 5 stars but I’ve got a couple of things that I think could be improved. These mount to the walls by 2 plates welded to the bars - easy enough. However, the tabs/plates are spaced so you can only get one side into a stud. There are holes drilled through the rod in one or 2 spots but for only half the length. At any rate, installation was easy enough and, even only using half of the mounting holes, they hold our kayaks well enough. One last thing to mention, if the mounting tabs are bent like mine were, a few light taps with a rubber mallet straightens them out without damaging the finish.

I give this 5 stars as the price is good and it just works perfect. Is it the very best quality I have ever seen....no. But its functional quality is right on. I have seen better welding and powder coating but everything fitted together and it was installed in 10 minutes and my kayak was securely mounted. I bought a second one. I figure its better to spend more money when it matters. This does the job and well.

This kayak wall hanger is perfect. Easy to install and sturdy. My kayak being on the wall instead of the floor of the garage gives us more room in our garage. I’m very happy with this purchase.
