Installed November 2017 on a 2003 GMC 1500HD 4x4, street driving only. One shock has already failed(oil leaked out) in April 2018. These Rancho RS5000X shocks were no better than the 4 year old Bilstein 5100's that they replaced, which I felt were worn out. I had decided to replace the shocks earlier this month because they fail to control wheel bounce (had my wheels balanced after shocks were installed and it didn't help) and they have very little dampening performance. Before I installed these shocks I noticed they were very easy to compress and extend manually, providing very little resistance. Don't recommend for this application.

2018 Chevrolet 1500. Rear shocks... these are not for you... they bounce worse then the broken originals and these bottom out on big bumps..Very bouncy!!

Product description for use with 3†lift system may not be accurate. I have a 3†block in the rear and the shocks clank after a month or so — almost like the dampening isn’t properly engineered to work when the shock is constantly pre compressed.

If you're looking for an upgrade you should consider looking elsewhere. It has a poor paint finish (rusting after a few months) and average, at best performance.02 Silverado 2500HD 8.1 Allison
