This ball really IS a lot of fun - but it's harder than I expected! It's made of high-density rubber and I thought it would be at least a little bit soft - but not really. It's pretty hard. This is a bit of an issue because I got this to help with hand-eye coordination training for my kids. No dice! They're too hard. I would probably not recommend this for anyone under 12 or so.It bounces in unpredictable ways, which is quite fun, BUT... as I said, not really appropriate for younger kids. It feels good in your hand and since it's smaller you can really get a bit of speed on it. It's a lot of fun! Just my opinion - keep it away from younger kids. Also, probably don't let anyone throw it around inside the house. Definitely recommend.

I purchased these for my PE class and after school athletic programs. They are very firm, but that is needed if you want them to bounce and travel a certain distance. For the younger students I roll them to them instead of trying to bounce it to them in 1 bounce. Even rolling the balls bounce in different directions and definitely help the kids with their hand-eye coordination. At $2.50/ball these are a good deal!
