Most tools that you normally get from a set tend to be cheaply made and don't feel great. This, however, was way better than I thought it would be. This comes with stencils which I didn't realize when I made the purchase and has a diagram of how to use the tools on the pattern. I already have about 40 hours worth of experience so I had a pretty good and basic idea of how these tools should be used. It does not come with a mallet, so make sure to get a really good one. The stamps are nicely weighted and have a similar quality as my 30-dollar stamps.

These are awesome and I have recommended them to several people I have been helping to get started in Leathercraft. When I first bought a set, they were around $40, but fast forward a year or two and they have gone up to $60. I think Realeather should consider the fact that these are the first step into tooling for a lot of people, and they are pricing them out of wanting to learn. Who wants to pay $60 for a few tools that you may or may not ever use again, depending on your talent and skill? I think the $40 price point was much more affordable and would get a lot more people interested in this craft. Realeather should think about the $$ those future customers would bring in on other products after they learn with these. Other than that, these are a great combo of tools to get someone started and the quality is very decent. I like them better than the current Tandy product.

First off, I am no pro. I bought these awhile ago and they always intimidated me because I didn’t know how to use them. I watched some YouTube videos and they made it look so damn easy! My first attempt was….not good lol. But with practice and patience I am getting better. In my opinion, this is a great starter set and would definitely recommend it. In time, skill will come. Buy some economy veg tan, put some clear masking tape on the back and practice practice practice. I haven’t broken any of them yet but the lifter does suck. Still learning the thumbprint ones but getting there. If I could add one more to this, it would be a medium pear shader. Anyway best of luck and practice and patience will get you to where you want to go!

Box and some of the bag with stamps had ink or something leaked all over it . It was a mess. And booklet that shows you get is just a couple of pieces of printer paper.

The tools are made in China and is reflected in the quality. They produce very shallow imprints. I had to remove a small metal projection in one of them using a pliers then a file otherwise.
