This is basically the OE accessory. Directions are limited, only a copy of part of the OE install instructions(4 out of 7 pages). I did not install the provided bracket as disassembly of the rear bumper cover is required. Reading other posts, I found it easier to grind off the current bracket instead of removing. So far product installed as expected and works as expected.

There's a YouTube video out there that'll give you a hint on how to install the step without having to tear your bumper apart. This makes getting up on your tailgate so easy. Should've invested in one of these years ago.

It works well as a step. Comes down and goes up quite easily. But weirdly, it retains water somewhere. We'll see if this causes issue later

Been wanting one of these for years.Works great, no issues so far.As others have stated, I opted to modify the existing bracket rather than taking apart the bumper.Took about 10 mins.

Not all pages of instructions included with the kit. I am in search of complete instructions before moving forward with installation. If I cannot locate complete instructions, I will be returning this kit.

I don't normally write reviews. I also normally would never just cut a factory bracket. However, in hopes to save someone out there hours of work and stress, I am writing a review and telling you to just cut the factory bracket. I removed the factory bracket (1 to 2 hours worth of work if you don't want to damage the plastic covers on your bumper) and compared it side by side to the one that comes with the kit. The factory one is superior in EVERY way. I decided to cut the factory bracket and again compare.....even with the cuts, the factory bracket remained superior in EVERY way. The first picture is what the original bracket looks like on the truck (the one win the picture is actually the passenger's side). The second picture is the part I cut out of the driver's side bracket so that the step would install properly. The last picture is with the step installed and extended with the cut factory bracket in place. Just cutting the factory bracket would have easily saved me 2 to 3 hours. Do yourself a favor; don't remove the plastic parts of the bumper, don't replace the bracket with the less superior one that comes with the kit.....save hours and stress and just cut the factory one. Install would have taken less than 30 minutes if I had done it the way I would do it knowing what I know now. Hopefully this helps someone out there.

I installed this on. 2010 Tundra. Install is the same but you don't have to use the bumper brace that the 2014-2021s need so I just save that. Bolted right up to the frame.
