I had a cake catastrophe a few days ago, so I dug out an ancient, traditional (analog) oven thermometer. It looked like my oven was off by more than 50 degrees F. But I know that the thermometer could be wrong, too. So I ordered two traditional thermometers plus the IR thermometer gun.I preheated an extra long time, which is apparently necessary vs. just waiting for the preheat beep which goes on too soon. (Just waiting for the beep is fine for things like casseroles but not for cakes.)The gun is super easy to use. And it confirmed that 2 of the 3 old-school thermometers were giving a correct reading. The laser thermometer was really inexpensive. I think I'll try it when making candy, too, to confirm what my candy thermometer tells me. I love that it doesn't use traditional batteries. It's USB/USB-C rechargeable, so no more batteries going to the landfill or battery acid leaking into the thermometer. The pictures show the disaster cake I made a few days ago and also the ones that turned out perfectly using the new thermometers. BTW, the pre-cut parchment circles are a huge help vs. tracing and cutting circles to fit in the pans. Got them on Amazon, too.

I've been using an old Infrared thermometer gun for vaporizing cannabis concentrates.Something always seemed off and I always thought it was my technique.I always held back on buying a new gun because all the models are big bulky ugly looking things. This was the first sleek looking thermometer I've found and in person it is perfect for my needs. The second i got it I used it to compare it to the older gun, and it was off. It would read a higher sometimes but usually was reading about 60F less than what the new gun is reading. When I tried vaporizing with the new thermometer gun. It literally solved all my issues. It was never my technique, but an error and misreading of the actual temperature of my quarts due to a bad old thermometer.Anyways, This thermometer has a cool little led screen that is magnified through smart optics way better than my old one that had a blue black light with black text that was reallly hard to read.

To start off the shipping was very fast. It showed up 2 days early. The packaging was very nice and very well packaged. After opening the box was the thermal thermometer. Undermeith that was the thermometer pen. Both of the products were a pot bigger than I thought. The thermal thermometer is very quick and easy to use. Simply set to Fahrenheit or Celsius and pull the trigger. You can actually see the laser dot when using it on anything. It works on dogs, food, humans and any other object you can think of. The pen on the other hand, is just as great. It has a auto shit off which helps save battery and it is also usb rechargeable. Both of the therometers are very accurate. No more guessing while cooking. All in all, this set is great for the cook in the family or fathers day gift. I wouldn't recommend any other brand. They are built to last and look great as well. Very durable and built to last. Get yourself one asap because they come in very handy.

I am leaving this review for the new WIFI thermometer. I now have 4 or 5 inkbirds and love all of their products.I am replacing my 4 prong BT thermometer for the wifi based one. Out of the box, it was very easy to set the online account.I love that the prongs are now color coded and wrapped in silicon so I can quickly pull out with my bare hands. I love that I can set up diffrent temp parameters for different prongs for different meat all at the same time. I love how quickly it charges and I expect the same battery life of my other inbird products which seems to be forever and of course the most used but over looked part is the magnetic backing. I can stick this to my grill, my oven, anywhere I am cooking.Great products, you can never go wrong with any inkbird.

Works as advertised. We love it. I am still going to get a simple stick in the meat thermometer, for just in case we forget to charge this one lol, but so far we love it.It's easy to read and easy to use. It measures the temperature so fast! No long eaiting and interrupting thw cooking process. I love the size. It sits good in your hand and is easy to use the design is nice. No unnecessary corners, or recesses etc. So it is easy to clean.I haven't used it very much, so I cannot say anything about durability, but I will update in a month or so.

It's an ok thermometer but my issue with it is you can't switch between F and C , even though it clearly shows the option on the screen and packaging. Nothing in the instructions and no combination of pressing the button brings up CAs for contacting customer service don't bother, I contacted the UK rep 3 weeks later still no response.I've just contacted the main Inkbird support and just had my email rejected by the recipients email account!!!Feel I've been CONNED.

Using this at work because my director is too cheap to buy a new temp gun when the old one is off 2 to 5 degrees from the expensive one in the fish department. 2 to 5 degrees. The city requires a working temp gun so that us managers can have our fridges and freezers in working temperature ranges, and the cheapo uses $20 no-name guns that crap out after 3 years, and he won't buy new ones because he has 16 old ones off by a few degrees and "wants to see if they are still good" even though he has zero electrical knowledge and the only thing we can do is change the battery, which we did, and it changed nothing. Lets see how far this one goes. I went for this one because it has good reviews and I'm only hoping to get 5 years out of it at most for the price, because I don't believe el cheapo will repay me more than this amount for a temp gun, and this seems hella better quality than his el cheapo guns. And I get that we can just fib the results on paper like unprofessional el cheapos. So far using it, it works well. Laser lights on trigger, and it takes a little getting used to the height difference between where you are pointing and where you are scanning, but that is insignificant. Display is easy enough to read and the design is neat. Gun is easy to hold. I like it.
