Purchased these just in time. Went to the beach, didn't air down my tires and immediately got stuck. Pulled these out and I was out instantly. They didn't bend or deform with my 10k pound F350. Very thankful, saved a tow bill!!

Price/Value Rating = OK to NOT SO GOOD.The traction boards performed about as poorly as almost all of the "Budget" traction boards tend to do.I do think they will make adequate Recovery traction boards, but their longevity will be short lived if used often. Best for those that rarely if ever need to recover using traction boards but want to carry a set in case you need them.Tested these Traction Boards on very sandy terrain at the local lake. The sand was course, much courser than beach sand, but very loose. I was able to intentionally get my vehicle to get stuck on a sandy incline such that my 4x4 could not start from a stop on the incline and just dug in. Incline was about 25 feet in length, and rose 8-9 feet in height. So moderately steep. I could get my front tires about 3 feet short of the top of the incline. This served as my test.I could not get the tires to grab traction from the boards by just trying to wedge boards under tire.I tried backing up 12 inches and rolling forward onto the boards. No luck, there are no traction "knobs" the first part of the board.I tried backing up 4 feet. That gave enough momentum to get the tires onto the boards and the boards provided enough traction to get me up and over the top of the incline. After examining these Traction Boards after my testing the traction "Knobs" on the board had "MELTED" almost flat. This was after 3 of the above tests I describe above. YES, I know you are not supposed to spin your tires on traction boards, and I was trying my best not to, but it happens anyways.

These recovery boards are the perfect option if you find yourself stuck in a tight spot on the trail. I've used these a handful of times now mainly to free myself from mud and sand, and these absolutly excel at getting out. Unlike a Winch that needs a tree a something to grab onto these recovery boards can be used anywhere which is a huge life saver in the Mojave desert where there are no trees. Just dig yourself a little room under the tire and throw these baby's down under there and drive yourself out, couldn't be easier. Also they look great on my roof rack and even came with the attachment pieces to secure them on the rack. Now I drive a small 4x4 SUV so i can't speak for everyone on the trail, but I'd be willing to bet they would work for anything that gets stuck out on trail, even larger trucks and jeeps or atvs. All in all i'm living my new recovery boards and they've become an integral part of my recovery system that I wouldn't be caught without on the trail. Save yourself now and tomorrow by getting yourself a pair today, you'll be thankful once you see the mud coming.

I haven’t yet tested the board for recovery so my rating may change when that occurs. My initial thoughts are that it appears sturdy and the provided hardware worked decently to mount it to the rack I had on my vehicle. My complaints are that there were no instructions given in the package or online of how the hardware should be used. Only by looking at other similar products was I able to figure out what some of the pieces were for. In the end I still mounted them differently then others may recommend as you can see in the pictures. What would’ve made the hardware 100x better in my case is if there were two more mounting plates so that the bolts could be permanently mounted to the rack. As it sits right now when removing the boards, the mounting plates and bolts will also fall off and need to be repositioned every time they are used which is very inconvenient.
